Matt Lauer visited Neverland Ranch for an in-depth interview with Michael Jackson's older brother Jermaine on the Today show this morning - the first with any Jackson family member since the death of Jackson. It is relevant to gays as gays who are not bio parents have NO RIGHTS. Cases are in courts in Canada right now fighting for their non bio parent rights (three parent families) which are falling through legislative gaps and must have their rights to parent their children based on truths, facts and intent. The courts WILL rule in the BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILDREN. They will most likely be kept together as siblings. Courts will most likely give them to the biological mother who is legally recognized. The intent to act as parent will also be weighted heavily and I believe the courts may give custody to the bio parent with parallel parenting and partial guardianship to the other acting parent in this case. It is not a matter of rights for the parents it will always be geared as to the best interest of the child and to the parent which has endevoured to act as loco parentis to them. Ergo there will most likely be a compromise of parallel parenting where the children benefit from the love and guidance of both parents involved. Don't be fooled by the biological factor or rights according to the charter. It is the childrens psychological, emotional and developmental conditions that will be considered. Just my thoughts on the subject, makes sense yes!

This has zilch to do with LGBT issues. You can connect the dots with any subject in your way of thinking but in the end the LGBT forum should be about issues that directly affect the gay community.

It's kind of relevant whether Jackson was gay or not since he was surely a kind of societal faultline around gender (and race.) And how the courts will deal with custody of the kids has a lot to say about the evolving rights of non traditional family units.

All that aside, I can't help but think the real issue is whether tundra trash Sarah P. or Michael Jackson or Frank Zappa chose the strangest names for their offspring.

Changed his name from Prince as part of a contract dispute.

I would personally say that Zappa's kids got the weirdest names, but the Palin brood is the weirdest. Although MJ's alternate reality universe was very close.

Talking about their names.. there is nothing wierd. Michael Jackson's Grandfather was named Prince. Michael's children are called
Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. also known as Prince, Paris-Michael Katherine Jackson, and
Prince Michael Joseph Jackson II also known as Blanket.

His brother Jermaine called his kid Jermajesty! How about that!

How about Gweneth callin her kid Apple.

Another celeb called their kid Satchel.

I think the Jacksons got off lightly
