No Plans To End Military Gay Ban

The Pentagon said today that it has no plans to repeal the military gay ban that prohibits open service by gay and lesbian soldiers .

Well let all the straight people fight over in Iraq then. Why should we gays fight for a country that hates and discriminates against us anyway?

This is very disappointing. I am an Obama supporter, but I won't be sending any more donations until he does something for gay people.

Obviously, more service members will just have to come out and force the DADT Don't Pursue military to toss them out.

And of course the military has plans to end the ban, though the ban won't be lifted exactly tomorrow.

Well, exactly; as the posts above say, two choices. Start fighting this *hardcore* and *forcing* massive military "casualties" by getting tons of people booted out of their own free will; or else start chalking this up as cowardice on the administration's part, and *call them out on it* without the slightest concern for anyone's claim that this is "less-than-patriotic. " It is completely, jaw-droppingly un-American that such a policy was *ever, ever, ever* in place and it is an embarrassment to our nation.

As others besides me have pointed out on these boards, we get made unending fun of in many other nations, including most of Europe, for American policies that make us look like spineless losers and cave-dwellers ... and America deserves that derision every step of the way that it cannot get its head out of its anus and start treating people fairly.
