The Reasons I Like Being A Lesbian

Well my friends… here you have it. I am about to bust out with a serious display of lesbian pride and give you a list of reasons why I like being a lesbian!

amusing however, i wonder why lesbians and gays feel the need to 'play roles'? butch, femme, please. if i wanted to be with a man, i would. not the next best thing, a fake. i don't understand the role play. been a lesbian for 30 years and i thought as time went by it would decrease, but no. i will be with a femme or butch but don't play any roles. why are we patterning our relationships after heteros???? i would be appalled if i went out with a butch and she started acting like a man with man role, ewww. i'm considered a 'girl', but i'm very independent and will not treat a woman like a man or pretend to. one thing i love about being with women is they are not MEN.

I've never been in a relationship where male/female roles were played. There are women who feel more comfortable in "mannish" attire and others in "womanish" clothes and some, like me like a mix.

Those who do need to play strick roles (IMO) are working through not only sexual identity but gender identity.

My favorite things about loving women is the cunnilingus and the conversation.

Maybe I have an oral fixation.

Hmm, I'm feeling inspired to do my own top five lists...

Top Five things I like about being trans:

5 - It allows me to speak to reality in a way that few really think about. I can use it as a scythe to cut away the BS in arguments around marriage, and demonstrate how sexism works from both sides.

4 - I can be both gay and straight as the situation requires it, using other people's preconcieved notions against them.

3 - I get to be both a daddy and a mommy.

2 - I'm not limited by fear any longer.

1 - I get to be myself, happier, healthier, and more hopeful than ever before.

Top Five Things I dislike:

5 - People think they can decide my sexual orientation for me, as well as my sex.

4 - I don't get to stand up anymore.

3 - I have to deal with the inherent issues of passing.

2 - People treat me much, much worse the moment they find out I'm trans than they do if I'm merely a woman.

1 - I am accused of deception regardless.

I'm butch, I naturally am more male like, except I like being female. I'm just not femme, my partner is though. The only role we take on and this for us is natural; is that I like going out to work and bringing home the money and she likes being a housewife. I need a housewife, so this works out really good for us.
