Many warm blessings and hugs to Melissa and Tammy Lynn for a long and happy life together in holy matrimony.

I was friends with two gentlemen in the Claremont, CA chapter of PFLAG who had been a commented couple in hiding for the majority of their 70 + years together. Jim and John would talk about how glad they were to finally be able to hold hands in public but that it was still something that left them worried about the reaction of others when they do.

Jim moved back east after John died, but I will never forget all they went through to stay together and how their love remained strong in spite of, or because of all they went through to stay true to each other.

I truly miss them both as they were both wonderful people.

Domestic partnerships in California are NOT equal to marriage. Visiting a loved one in the hospital is more difficult if you have a domestic partnership. You can not enter into a domestic partnership with a foreigner and have that give that person legal status in the US. There are many many rights that domestic partnerships does not grant like pre-marital agreements or tort liability or spousal privileges which marriage does. What the sick thing is is that domestic partnerships use the same system as marriage when couples break up.
