When you have nothing good to say about your campaign, dig up old news and dirt that's not relevant anymore. Let's start digging up the Keating 5 dirt on McSame, too. Talk about poor judgment when it comes to economic issues...

She is coming to Jacksonville in the morning. I went to see McCain the morning he said, "The fundementals of the economy are sound." There were a scant 2500 present. I got called a Socialist by some old gal in the parking lot when I told her , "Thanks but no thanks" to her invitation of a McCain shirt. So I said, "then you must be a Fascist"....very naughty of me.

I tried to get into the Obama Rally the following Saturday but they closed the park with 12,000 inside and another 8,000 outside.

But Guvner' Palin will be here at The Landin' on Tuesday mornin'. It is a small venue and will looked packed with a couple of hundred folks. Sorry, but I just had to drop the G. So there goes the neighborhood. I may make it down there, but it begins at 7AM.

I have been reading in the newspaper the last couple of weeks about the crush of new voters being registered. My guess (and it is only a guess) is that the majority of those being registered are minorities and young people. I envision the minorities as voting for Obama, as that is where their interests lie. As for the young, they have grown up in a newer America than I did. They grew up with minorities, gays included, and they have a more open view of the world. I truly believe that both of these groups will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. As for the older generation, I think they will be split pretty close to 50/50. The group of Baby Boomers that are just begining to retire, and seeing their 401k's and IRAs falling in value will probably have had enough of the Republican administration. I worried a bit at the begining of this entire election process that Obama would be left in the dust, but I supported him nonetheless. I am happy to see my support vindicated, and I look forward to his eventual election. Sarah Palin, I hope, will be left in the dust-bin of history, as I also hope McCain will be.

Ralph, you're probably right and a lot of the good pollsters out there agree with you. Many believe that Obama's lead is even greater than it is today for the simple reason of all these newly registered voters.

They are not being polled for two reasons. Because they are new, they don't fall in the "likely voter" column. But because this is such an anomally as far as elections go, they're being undercounted for this first reason.

Second, most of them don't have landlines. They're only reachable by cell phone and cell phone users are NOT included in most polls. I'm 40 and haven't had a landline for at least five years. This is a growing phenomenon, so it's not inconceivable that many, many "likely" and new voters will be missed because of this fact.

Let's hope that everyone sees through the lipstick and sees the pig behind it...

I'm not sure about the cell phone argument. I was included in a poll this election and they called my cell phone. Now, I'm not saying all polling groups will call cell phones. I really have no idea, but evidently some do.

The election will most likely come down to how many of those newly registered voters actually vote. Past elections indicate many of them won't, but I agree with you, I sense a difference this election. People I know feel this is the most important election we've had in our lifetime. We can't afford four more years of the same.
