More young people have been riled up this year than years past and are ready to vote their minds. Luckily, the mass majority of the youth are on our side.
We will win to keep our rights. I've no doubt in that.

According to a new CBS poll: "Likely California voters overall now favor passage of Proposition 8 by a five-point margin, 47 percent to 42 percent.

1 It only polled 670 voters. This is not representived of the overall view in California. There are millions of people and they polled 670 voters and then said this is how the WHOLE STATE IS VOTING. Polls are nothing more than statistics, which can be spun to make it look like the tide is shifting. When November 5th arrives, then we will have a good idea of just how Prop 8 did. Until then, we just watch the ads from the supporters of Prop 8 tell lies. Please people VOTE NO ON PROP 8. VOTE NO ON DISCRIMINATION Please to not believe all of the hype in either direction. Ziggy why the sudden shift? We were ahead in the polls. Young voters are supposed to be more progressive and be most against banning gay rights. This is troubling.

"What is also very troubling is the fact that young voters are overwhelmingly supporting a ban on marriage equality in California."
That seems very suspicious to me. It makes me want to discount the entire poll. I need to see confirmation. In the meantime, opponents of Prop H8 DO need your contributions! We're not raising as much cash as the the supporters, and we can't compete with the organization of the Roman Catholic Church, Momons or others. |

We will win. The advantage always goes to social progress, despite the best attempt by regressives.

1 "Polling on ballot measures in general is an inexact science, and polling on homosexuality in general is a tricky business. So, not too much should be made of the 5 points that separates 'Yes' and 'No' today," (concluded a summary of the results prepared by SurveyUSA.) One survey is not enough to see any actual shift. Any major change from the last several poles which showed Prop 8 losing by several points would have to be verified by additional polls. It's quite possible that the pollsters accidentally phoned twenty members of the same church youth group. It's unlikely, but such statistical flukes are actually quite commonplace. For instance, the companies that survey radio listening to determine station ratings will call people and ask them about their listening habits. Those who work in the radio industry, like myself, are prohibited from participating in these surveys, for obvious reasons. I've asked a great many people whether they've ever been surveyed, and I've never met anyone who has received such a call. However, I've been called no less than five times in the last nine years for the survey (and each time, I have to tell them I'm prohibited from participating.) In a poll or survey where one person represents 100,000 people, the only way to improve accuracy is to ask more and more people. Frankly, knowing the generally much more accepting attitudes of people in the younger generation, I find it very difficult to believe that California young people are the demographic behind a shift toward Prop 8. Looks like a polling gaff. But, by all means--DO WHATEVER YOU CAN TO DEFEAT PROP 8. It's a measure which would write discrimination into the California Constitution, which would be nothing less than a political crime against the very ideals of America. |

Don't forget since they spend so much on it, they probably wouldn't have enough money to hire a good attorney on it's court challenge anyways.

Even though polls aren't always accurate I am getting nervous. This vid debunks the yeson8 ad lies. Please send to friends and family.

After all Lambda Legal will probably take on the case or even Gloria Allred. |

I must say you have the right to your own opinion. That is a great advantage to being an American.
I am not as you people call it "Gay Bashing". I do not have a problem with what ever sexual orientation you choose to be. I just don't feel that it is right to socially accept couples of the same sex to be recognized as Marriage. As for everyone in here and all this court drama, you know just as well as I do even if it goes your way we will tie it up in court. I am not here to change your opinion but just to give an understanding. As far as retaliation that is merely showing the ignorance of what it is to be an American. It is completely upsetting that people would result in that to prove what? That they are right not today nor tomorrow will that ever happen. The physical beating of one of ours just gives us more strength in what we are doing! |

PROP.
8 SUPPORTER VIOLENTLY ATTACKED FOR DISTRIBUTING LAWN SIGNS October 13, 2008 MODESTO-October 13—In a violent display of intolerance, an opponent of Proposition 8 attacked and seriously injured a man who was volunteering on Sunday for the initiative to define marriage as between and a man and a woman. Prop. 8 supporter, Jose Nunez, 37, was brutally assaulted while waiting to distribute yard signs to other supporters of the initiative after church services at the St. Stanislaus Parish in Modesto. The assailant grabbed about 75 signs and yelled at Nunez accusingly,“What do you have against gays!” Although Nunez replied that he had nothing against gays, he was attacked anyway. The assailant punched Nunez in the left eye and ran off with the signs. Nunez, his eye dripping with blood, walked into a building on church grounds where a fellow parishoner called 911. Police and paramedics responded to the scene. Nunez, who suffered a bloody eye, serious wounds to his face, and a scratch to his knee, was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital where he received 16 stitches under his eye. According to the Yes on 8 campaign, the attack shows that their opponents are not as tolerant and open-minded as they would like voters to believe. “It’s outrageous that the No campaign calls themselves the voice of tolerance and moderation and wants people to feel bad for supporting Prop. 8. There was nothing tolerant or moderate about beating up Jose,” said ProtectMarriage. com—Yes on 8 press secretary Chip White.“Clearly the man who attacked Jose is intolerant of those who support traditional marriage,” White added. Ironically, Nunez, a native of Mexico, became an American citizen two months ago and plans to vote for the first time in November. Nunez, who is recovering and in good spirits, said the attack only strengthens his resolve to help ensure that Prop. 8 passes. “The other side wants to intimidate us, but we can’t stop standing up for traditional marriage. I may be bloody and bruised, but I’m not giving up. Protecting traditional marriage is just too important for our kids,” said Nunez, the father of three children, ages 9, 5, and 3.“I don’t want my kids taught in public school that same sex-marriage is the same as traditional marriage,” Nunez added. Nunez has been forced to take time off work to recover. It was not immediately clear how much Nunez will suffer in medical expenses and lost wages. |

Of course we all denounce violence against our political opponents--just as strongly as we denounce hate crimes against GLBT's and other minorities. Have your groups renounced violence against GLBT's? Have they considered how the lies and stereotypes they perpetuate contribute to that violence? |

Hmmmm, Sodom huh? Do you know why that city was supposedly destroyed? I'll give you a book to read, it will tell you why, Ezekiel, now get offline and go read what that book has to say about why that city was supposedly destroyed. |

Geeez, what next? Crystal night and Death Camps. If the right really wants to chum with that crowd they need to find another planet or a better role model...WW2 was already fought and the extreme right lost. SEE 20th century World History, the class you sleep through.

You obviously slept through it yourself. If you consider Nazism extreme right, then you better go back and educate yourself again. Also, outside of your irrational extremist views, when have you seen the equivalent of Crystal Night or death camps in this country about political issues? You haven't and that's because you are using the appeal to fear to make your irrational points. It's vulgar and offensive to sit here and read this kind of spew that someone like you writes without a basis in facts. Get them straight because you aren't entitled to make up your own to suit your whimsical fancies. |
