Subway employee sacked over gay porn career

A 22-year-old has been fired from a branch of sandwich chain Subway after a customer recognised him from his gay porn work and complained.

Kurt Wild, who has appeared for Freshmen and Buckshot, was employed in a restaurant near St Louis, Missouri.

When a corporation starts using an employee's personal life against them, it starts to become a "big brother" issue. I have contacted Subway and told them they can support the one customer who complained, but have just lost another customer.
While I myself would never make an adult movie, it is perfectly legal and should have had no bearing on Mr. Wild's employment.

Considering that the porn industry is about the only sector of the economy which is showing healthy profits these days, Subway should have made the kid VP of marketing.

I have to ask what seems to me an obvious question: If the complaining customer was familiar with his work in gay porn, then doesn't it follow that the customer was a consumer of gay porn? How can you support something, then turn around and be offended by it? Smells like hypocrisy!

So, the only question left is... 6-inch or footlong?

Uh....If he was recognized by the patron for his gay porn work, then the patron must have a taste for such things. Why was the patron complaining? Usually fans are happy and excited to see 'movie stars' in person.

well i hope he sue the hell out of the subway shop owner .and as for the person who . had this guy fired . how the hell do you know if he did or doing gay porn unless you looking at it .i for one will never eat at another subway. just like i dont do cracker barrel .they also treat gay workers wrong (fired a guy in my area because a customer . said they dont want or like gay folks waiting on them

So what message is Subway trying to send? That someone who has perhaps been forced to make ends meet (no pun intended) by appearing in porn should be fired from a 'regular' job? Why? So they'll need a way to pay the bills and maybe return to the porn industry? Are they serious?

More than enough reason for me to just pay a few bucks extra at Quiznos for food that's much better anyway.

I sure hope he sues them. Nowhere on the application does it ask for any type of disclosure for this sort of thing. There is also no "moral clause" on the application. If they can't disclose this type of attitude upfront, then they should have to pay for it. If it had been disclosed that they would fire for moral issues such as this, he may not have taken the job. But, now he has to claim he was fired, or he has to omit this employment from future applications. Either way, Subway has been unfair to him.

You can't boycott ALL Subways, because one owner fucked up.

Just because they're franchises doesn't mean the franchise owner can just do anything he wants. And yes Subway certainly reserves the right to buy out any franchise owner at any time and close the location or find a new owner. That's part of the deal. Otherwise if they had a really bad store that was making a bad name for Subway with poor service or health dept. violations, they'd have no control over it. But they do. They have total control and the last word (if necessary) in any store level decision.

I travel often I and have often relied on Subway for a healthy meal while connecting in airports, but not anymore. I will look at other options rather than support this type of discrimination!

Okay, so all those women who worked their way through college by stripping should all be fired and forced back into the sex trade, right?

My own future is already decided too, because Ive done some underwear and swimwear modeling for a department store catalog. I guess I'm stuck too, and can never get a job at Subway.
