1 My point, is once you vote for Obama, he won't give a damn about any GLBT rights until the next election cycle (then blame the lack of progress on republicans),... Ok, flame away, but it won't change much. I wish I was wrong, I actually had great hopes for Obama when he started running,... Now I'm just pissed at the democrats because they just might get another republican elected president,.. You might call republicans "Sheep", but how is that different from "Lemmings" running to the sea? |

1 -- Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, March 16, 2008 "Our policy in this administration -- laws shouldn't bail out lenders, laws shouldn't help speculators." -- President Bush, May 19, 2008 "Our economy has continued growing, consumers are spending, business are investing, exports continue increasing and American productivity remains strong. We can have confidence in the long-term foundation of our economy...I think the system basically is sound. I truly do." -- President Bush, July 15, 2008 "Our economy, I think still—the fundamentals of our economy are strong." -- John McCain, speaking on the morning of September 15, 2008. THIS ELECTION ISN'T EVEN ABOUT GAY RIGHTS OR GAY VS. STRAIGHT. IT'S ABOUT SMART VS. DUMB AND NOT GOING INTO THIS CENTURY'S GREAT DEPRESSION. LET'S NOT PUT ANOTHER DUMMY IN OFFICE. LET'S STAND IN LINE AT THE POLLS SO WE DON'T END UP STANDING IN SOUP LINES LATER ON. |

1 Let's see: McCain was pro-choice before he was pro-life. He voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment before he supported it. He voted against extending the Bush tax cuts multiple times before deciding he favors even lower taxes on corporations and the wealthiest citizens. Except for the Federal Marriage Amendment (on which he has switched to the dark side), he's voted anti-GLBT every chance he got. He's against the Matthew Shepherd Hate Crimes Law; he's against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act; he believes Don't Ask Don't Tell is good and it's working. Yeah. This guy represents me much better than Obama. McCain's a man you can trust. To further his ambitions no matter whom he crushes! |

1 Politics is pretty much a canidate telling a person what they want to hear. I prefer to look at their personal voting record and their stances on important issues. It makes it easier when the two match. Of cousre Obama isn't going to make gay marriage his top priority, but at least with him, lgtb issues can progress further as opposed to Mcfart who will take all minorites back 40 years |

"McCain: No gay marriage and no adoption rights"
First of all, it doesn't matter who the President is the next four years because gay rights are coming. That said, McCain will be moving back to one of his seven houses in November as lipstick moves back to Russia. Obama is ahead in all the major polls and no one that ahead this close to an Election loses. Obama will win a landslide because Americans are sick of the Nazis. McCain poll numbers look like the stock market lmao http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/... |

1 But the difference between Obama and McCain is that Obama will not fight AGAINST our rights like McCain and Palin will.

1 The tenth anniversary of the Matthew Shepherd's brutal murder is coming up next week. We still don't have a federal hate crime law covering GLBT's. The President's opinion couldn't have influenced this failure. We still haven't passed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. The President's threatened veto didn't have anything to do with that. Three quarters of Americans believe Don't Ask Don't Tell is bad military policy and there are nearly 150 congressional cosponsors of repeal. The fact that the bill hasn't gone anywhere for several years can't be related to the attitude of the man in the White House. Federal funds for social programs are given to faith-based groups that proselytize and actively discriminate against GLBT's. The lack of funding for gay-friendly organizations can't be related to the diversion of funds to groups that the President supports. Speaking of federal funds, schools are given money to teach abstinence only sex education, which has been a documented failure for both heterosexuals AND GLBT's. Obviously, the preferences of the executive branch don't affect what our children are taught (or not). No, the President is going to be way too busy to spend time demagoging homosexuals for political purposes. There's no reason at all to prefer one candidate over the other on GLBT issues. Unless truty, equality and respect are important to you. |

Blond Prince, Thanks for the site. It is pretty interesting to see how Obama is fairing much better than McCain. Our Economy could not stand another 4 years under McCain/Palin. He may of served his country, but he takes for granted all of the rights he has as an American Citizen. I find it interesting that for being a Vietnam Veteran, that many Vietnam Vets will not be running to the polls voting for him. Makes you wonder. Blessed Be |
Note: the myth of Lemmings committing mass suicide is not based in fact. In my experience, many conservatives don't seem interested in facts, just like they aren't so concerned with understanding evolution, which led both sheep and lemmings to behave the way they do. So to address your question, Sheep move and act in herds because that's the best way for them to survive as a species. Lemmings are driven to seek new habitat when their population exceeds the resources of their current environment. I will let others do the comparing, b/c I have work to do... |

1 Obama is faring well in the polls, and McSame is falling behind. But please, let's not get complacent with this. There are still 5 more weeks before the election, and we need to do all we can to keep Obama on top. It would take very little for McSame to begin rising in the polls again. I very much fear for the minorities in this country, and for the middleclass if the McSame/Bush crowd and are re-elected (and yes, I said RE-elected). We must still fight the good fight and continue to contribute to his campaign if we want Obabma elected. |

And while you're at it, support California's No On 8, Florida's No on 2, and Arizona's No on 102. California will almost surely give its electoral votes to Obama, and Arizona will almost surely give its votes to its own Senator McCain. But Florida is a critical swing state, and Obama has a good chance there. We have excellent chances of defeating the marriage amendments in all three states if our organizations get the monetary and other support they need. While encouraging voters for Obama to get to the polls is more likely to help defeat anti-gay amendments than getting out voters for McCain, it's not a very good strategy to support our friends in these states. But getting a "No" voter to go to the polls is highly likely to help Obama defeat McCain. |

1 Obama is the first candidate I can remember addressing equality for same-sex couples in his speeches even when he was not speaking to a gay-friendly crowd. You should read his bood "The Audacity of Hope" if you aren't convinced he truly is concerned about equality for all regardless of sexual orientation. The president alone cannot pass legislation to grant legal rights to same-sex couples or repeal DADT or DOMA, but Obama has made it clear he would supprt such legislation. McCain is on record saying he would do the opposite. |

National averages are not that helpful unless they are highly one-sided. Check out the electoral college map http://www.electoral-vote.com/ . It currently shows 286 for Obama (270 needed to win), 190 for McCain, and 62 too close to call. You're looking good, Barack! The senate is currently predicted to be 58 Dem's and 42 Reps, still not veto-proof, but if 58 Dems can't convince two Reps to vote with them they probably shouldn't be pushing their legislation anyway. The House is currently looking like 240 Dems and 194 Reps, with one district too close to call. America is looking blue this year, in more ways than one! |
