When the state's voters decide Proposition 8 this fall, it appears they will check "yes" or "no" next to a ballot title that reads: "Eliminates the Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry." A Superior Court judge ...

I just hope that the "gentleman" above does not try to hide behind his Christianity, because the judgemental remarks that he has made are definitely not those of a true Christian. Nor are they informed or intelligent. Sad that those kind of remarks can even be posted here.
Someone like yourself should be ashamed. If we are liniting marriage here in the USA then perhaps only people who are capable of children should get married. What of those who choose to not have kids, or cannot? Your remarks are flawed, as I am afraid are you. |

Galen wrote: "Homosexuals are NOT the same as other people. They seldom form longterm exclusive
relationships, often completely obsess on perversion, and have much elevated rates of many diseases and social ills. THIS is the reality." Ummm. If you pass laws that PREVENT gay people from entering into exclusive long-term relationships, then aren't you CAUSING them to not be able to form these relationships. In my experience, I know of dozens of long-term gay relationships (15-25 years in length). That's pretty amazing, considering the government, and the SPECIAL heterosexual elites want to prevent gays from being EQUAL. Well I, for one, think everyone should just chill-out and think about what keepinig gays as second-class citizens means to our wonderful American society. We are entitled to life, liberty, an the persuit of happiness. Our country was founded on it. ALL OF US are entitled to that. Not just the elite few. I have NO problem with sharing, and letting all of us be equal. I'm sorry you do. And I'm sorry you're so ignorant that you think gay people are so different. "Oooooooo. They do their laundry different than I do." "oooooooo. Look they buy whole wheat bread at the grocery store rather than sour dough." "oooooooo. They comb their hair to the right rather than to the left. I just hate them for that." GIVE ME AN EFFING BREAK ! |

Galen,
I swear I've heard these same arguments before.... THAT'S RIGHT...the exact same arguments were used to discriminate against Jews and Blacks 100 years or more ago..."They aren't like us" "Their relationships don't mean anything", "They will never be equal to us" blah, blah, blah. Hate is hate. I wonder where you get your info, because it is FAR from the truth. Sounds like nothing more than the standard GOD HATES FAGS rhetoric we've already heard. |

1 I'll make it simple for Biblically scarred fools like yourself who just can't let go of the murderous ideas put forth in the Old Testament, especially, Leviticus 20:13, a real Testament to idiocy and mindlessness. If a State requires a license for ANY citizen to do anything whatsoever (remember, we are living in a Free Society, not a religiously dominated disaster---at least for now) there is no reason whatsoever to set any limits at all, the least of which is sexal identification to attain a State mandated license. What you, and other clueless individuals are advocating, is pure discrimination, and is disallowed under the Constitution and its Amendments. Please get a different hobby. What you, and, others like yourself, who have no real idea of what equal protection under the law even means, nor, what tolerance means, nor, what it takes to live in a truly free society, are doing is, is attempting to foist your Biblically learned prejudices on those who know better. Time to grow up Chump. Your ideas are as stale as last weeks baguette. |

Rick -- go take a 10 minute time-out in your room. Consider yourself lucky, I was contemplating a 30 minute time-out given your behavior as of late. http://www.topix.net/forum/sacramento/T4D34N4... |
Um.......... Then why isn't it the "fault" of "the hetero/bi world" for engaging in unsafe sex and catching HIV? You are looking to blame "the gays" while letting "the heteros" off the hook? Why exactly? I think you need to go back to the drawing board. If you are going to blame people for a virus, you might have to consider all those kids back in the 1950s who spread polio via swimming pools. "Thanks be to the kids?" Blaming people for disease really smacks of desperation and is really something to be ashamed of. <shaking my head in disbelief> |
|
Huh? I ask again: Why are you not blaming "the heterosexuals" if they are catching a disease? Why are you only blaming "the gays" who, after all, also caught that disease? So for you, blame is all about timing? Very, very, very strange. |
|
|
One last try:
1983. A gay man becomes HIV+. You blame "the gays"? 2008. A heterosexual woman becomes HIV+. You blame "the gays"?????????? Maybe you should rethink this whole "cause and effect" thing. I don't think it works the way you think it works. ;-) |

1 Wrong. World-wide, AIDS is primarily a heterosexually transmitted disease. And it is passed on to children at birth thanks to all those perverted HIV+ mothers. You're a disgrace to the human race. I'd say you're a disgrace to Christianity, but you're not Christian. |

Why are the proponents of Proposition 8 afraid of the title explaining what it does? Don't they want to "Eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry?" Did they have something else in mind when they qualified the initiative for the ballot? Are they not convinced that the rest of California wants to eliminate this right?
I would have to say that they're running scared now. |

1 Hey Boob, Been walking upright long? Speaking of dead, what have you done about that late great boner of yours? Social retards like you are the perverts. Maybe you could use a good dirt box drillin' to loosen up that sphincter of yours so you know what it's like to handle a real man. |

Hello Rev. Damned, love your austrolopithicine views of the world. Good to know you don't have opposing thumbs to get in the way of your better judgement. |

Lets follow Leviticus and put the purveyors of pork , ham and bacon, shellfish and barbers out of business. THEY'RE the real menace to society. And include those unclean women who have just had a baby. They're forbidden in the temple for, I forget...is it a week if the baby was a male and 2 weeks if female or was it 14 days for a male and 28 for a female? Mixing of meat with cheese. How many other rules are you ignoring while fixating on just one?
Seriously, you better watch what you wish for because someone just might out you while you're stuffing your face with a ham and swiss on rye in a barbershop while you're wearing polyester clothing and wool socks. This why I'm no longer a practicing Catholic or Baptist or Episcopalian. I follow the New Testament of love thy neighbor as you love yourself. And judge not others as you would yourself be judged. |

I strongly disagree with the above comment. People of the same gender. i.e. Daddy-Daddy, Mommy-Mommy can also raise a happy, intelligent and well-adjusted child. Love and open communication are the key ingredients. |
