Seattle Safeco and Qwest fields heterosexual bias against homosexuals

That night's concert was the Seattle stop on the True Colors tour. It starred Rosie O'Donnell and Cyndi Lauper, the stage was decorated with a rainbow and a pink triangle, and the event was billed as a fundraiser for organizations to "raise awareness about the discrimination the GLBT community still faces." But while the B-52s played a slow song, two lesbians who were sitting in the third row say a security guard approached them, shined his flashlight in their faces, and then lowered the beam onto their joined hands. He then gestured with his finger across his throat to "cut it out" and told them to "stop it," the women say.

It sounds to me as if one particular security guard has a holier-than-thou attitude and simply needs to find a different place to work. Maybe he can get a job in Iran where he'd be better suited.

Sounds like things are moving is a positive direction. Since there are grounds for a harassment lawsuit against both Qwest and the Security Agency, there is only one reasonable course of action. Of course, in an ideal world, none of this would be necessary.

"We were very disappointed to hear someone had this kind of experience," says Qwest Field spokeswoman Suzanne Lavender. She says that under Qwest's fan "code of conduct," holding hands is "completely acceptable behavior for a Seahawks game, an auto show, or an Iggy Pop concert." She says that Qwest is now considering adding sensitivity trainings for security guards and role-plays involving same-sex couples. "We will take actions to make sure this doesn't happen again," she says.

Yeah and for that security guard that caught the two lesbians kissing and groping each other, let's make that legal too while were at it. I feel sorry for the parents that their kids have to watch such behavior. It is unacceptable and these guards are just doing their job. Whatever happened to good fun family entertainment? No such thing anymore without having some controversy. Society has gone downhill. I understand that gay and lesbians have rights but all that changes when you're at a family event. But they don't care about how many kids might be watching them. They never think about that. Why don't the kids sue these people for something that they don't want to see, like lesbians kissing and groping each other. Just because you have rights doesn't mean you have them everywhere you go. Have some freaking restraint!!!

Lighten up! Who the hell cares about people making out in public? Victorian times are over; there is much racier stuff on MTV anyway. You think your kids don't know about things?

Like the hundreds of straight couples who have the temerity to, "GASP", hold hands at public events?

Why, they should all be beaten with sticks! I certainly don't want my impressionable children seen a;; those horrible demonstrations of affection!

All sacrasm aside, why is showing affection in public permissible only for straight people?

Makes no sense at all.
