Greek court rules lesbians are not just from Lesbos

Residents of the Greek island of Lesbos have lost their legal bid to ban the use of the word lesbian to describe gay women.

How could these people that brought the lawsuit have been so stupid? Were they thinking that they could send their uh, Lesbian police all over the world to make sure no one uttered that word outside of their tiny island? Are they so homophobic that they cannot honor their most famous daughter Sappho without whom no one would go there? Are the tourist dollars burning a hole in their Lesbian pockets?

Or is it all a publicity stunt even though a rather expensive one?

Several residents testified during the trial that the use of the word lesbian had boosted the island's tourist trade.
