Barnes Advocates Gay Bashing Strategy For McCain

Google Custom Search July 06, 2008 Barnes Advocates Gay Bashing Strategy For McCain Conservative political commentator Fred Barnes is advising Republican presidential hopeful Senator John McCain to exploit gay issues as a strategy to win the White House in the fall election against Democratic rival Senator Barack Obama. On Fox News Sunday, the Weekly Standard executive editor and The Beltway Boys co-host, said he believed McCain needed to use the issues of gay marriage and “Don't Ask, Don't Tell” - the military's policy baning gays from serving openly in the Armed Forces - to rally conservative voters. “Here's what he needs to do, he needs to touch on some of the social issues which energize the right... In particular, gays in the military for one. We know Barack Obama is for allowing gays in the military, and Bill Clinton tried to do, but backed off. This is not a popular issue. Gay marriage is another one. These are both issues that I think McCain's going to have to use. You can't ignore the right. If he does, he'll loose,” Barnes said. more

There is the chance that this advice could backfire. Is America not tired of the agenda of hate by its government, whether it be towards GLBT or Cuban, Iranian, Iraqi, etc? I am not sure how much more of this can be tolerated by Americans or foreign nations.

So they know they can't win and have to stoop to underhanded tactics.

Pathetic.

DADT Don't Pursue no longer has the same effect it did. Marriage equality is still tough for most of the population, even if the right wing reaction has subsided for that, too.

Sen McRage has to play the fear card and greed cards on every single issue, though. That is clear. The issues don't even matter ultimately, just the fear and greed appeals.

In other words he believes McCain doesn't have a shot in winning and it's time to rile up the people into a frenzy so they can elect another Bush into office.

I'm hoping that Americans have learned their lesson and won't condemn us to another 4 years of the same old thing. That will certainly bring down this country once and for all.

Let McCain run on the real issues that are affecting this country and see what happens.

This only proves what we've known all along. The GOP, including the shameful Log Cabin variety, are more dangerous to America than any foreign terrorist. They would use anything, including lies and deceit, to further their agenda of hate and domination.

Fred Barnes is a disgusting parasite sucking the pus from the hate-filled sores that plague ignorant people. Like with all other parasites, a good cleansing would make the body of the American populace feel a lot better.
