Pretty typical "study" actually, very similar to Paul Cameron... * This study was not about gay relationships, as most people who misuse this study claims. Its purpose was to study how HIV is transmitted in the Dutch population. That’s why the study was based only on those with HIV/AIDS attending STD clinics. It is no more generalizable to the general LGBT population than heterosexuals with STD’s are representative of straight people overall. * This study excluded everyone over thirty — the prime age in which people are more likely to settle down and marry. *“Relationships” weren’t defined. Anything including a second date to a lifetime commitment could be counted. You simply cannot compare that to straight couples who are married as the FRC does. * FRC cites the study as taking place in a country with “legalized homosexual marriage”, but the Netherlands didn’t have anything like it when the study ended in 1998. Registered partnerships for same-sex and opposite-sex couples didn’t begin until October 1, 1999. A limited form of same-sex marriage wasn’t available until 2001. * And this is the most important point of all: Because the purpose of the study was to look at how AIDS is transmitted, all monogamous couples were specifically excluded from the study. Because monogamous couples aren’t transmitting HIV, they would have been completely irrelevant to the study’s goals. FRC Liars Exposed.

I don't know how many different ways you can say it but I will say it again: These religious right groups CANNOT stand on their own beliefs. They have to lie, use deceit and doctor statistics in order to advance their views.

We should all have guns for protection. But never use a gun to kill cockroaches. All you have to do is shine light on them and they disappear into their holes.

No significant percent of homosexuals has "married" in ANY country that permits the oxymoron. SOSDD (Same old s**t different day) I've started clicking on the Report Abuse everytime I see this tired old comment. Probably won't do any good since he/she/it changes names every single time, but it makes me feel better. As for the article itself, before the mid-80's, homosexual's may have been more promiscuous. Being in my early 20's at the time, I know I was. That, however, was before I began a committed relationship (at least on my part) for the next 12 years starting in 1985.(He cheated on me and contracted HIV, which he never passed on to me, Thank God.) My next relationship was for 7 years before he passed away from a heart attack, NOT HIV/AIDS as so many people assume since he was only 42. The other "fact" stated is that the average same sex relationship is 1 1/2 years. Please. I personally know of many men who have been together for 10, 15, 20 years or more. One couple I know have been together for 25 years, which is longer than one of them was married to a woman. I've stated this before, the religious right is so afraid that this proposition will pass, which it will, that they will try to stir up more trouble than what it's worth. The amount of money they are spending on this is astronomical. Money that could, and should, be used to help people who are starving, homeless, sick, elderly, you name it. It's really pathetic.

We need to act-up. I'm not buying a gun but I am working out, trying to gain strength and have just bought a pair of boxing gloves. Fortunetly I was boxing this really cute straight 19 year old today. Unfortunately I hit like a girl. We have quite a bit of 'rage' to tap into and some of us are looking for a homophobe to offer himself as an outlet. Sorry, but I'm looking forward to the day I hear of a homophobe being killed when he tries to attack someone.

Steve, Be very afraid of squirrels, they like nuts, and you are a big one! steve wrote: The ridiculous political charade of homosexual "marriage" remains exposed as the fraud that it is. No significant percent of homosexuals has "married" in ANY country that permits the oxymoron. Homosexuals are NOT the same as other people. They seldom form longterm exclusive relationships, often completely obsess on perversion, and have much elevated rates of many diseases and social ills. THIS is the reality. No homosexual "marriage" is recognized by the US Government. We have a democratically established national definition of marriage as solely between one man and one woman. No law could ever make even one homosexual relationship into a real marriage. It is of course ludicrous to claim that "equal rights" are involved in trying to disenfranchise others on the legal definition of marriage. Homosexual "marriage" is a complete FRAUD. Two unequals will NEVER be equal. No homosexual relationship shares the reasons for government involvement in real marriage, and the two are VERY different. No homosexual relationships is the "equal" of a real marriage. Marriage is indeed very different from any homosexual relationship: Here are some MAJOR differences between real marriage and any sort of homosexual relationship, especially regarding any governmental involvement: Like it or not, marriage and family are the basic building block of American Society. No significant percent of homosexuals has "married" in ANY country that allows the contrived oxymoron and only about 1.6% of the US population claims to be "GLBT" anyway, so homosexual "marriage" fails on this one! Children are the usual and natural result of real marriage. No child will EVER be born as a direct result of a homosexual relationship, so homomarriage fails on this one, too! Having both a mother and father in the home is one of the best statistical predictors of a child's future success in life. No homosexual relationship can provide this. Marriage is recognized as moral and necessary by nearly all Americans. Americans overwhelmingly reject homosexual "marriage" and most find homosexual acts to be immoral and damaging.

My wife and I live in MASS and are very happily married and have a 6-year-old son. I agree whenever possible a child should have both male and female role model that loves and support that child in their growth and development. That was one of the reasons that we chose to have the donor be a part of our son’s and we deliberately moved so that he would be in the house next door. He is straight and has a girlfriend so our son gets the best of all family situations! Life is hard enough without trying to tear each other down and cause controversy. Life can be so much nicer when we have people who are not trying to tear everyone down.

The title of the brochure gives the whole thing away. Anyone who has studied debate knows that the "Slippery Slope" is a classic fallacy. It is the erroneous jumping to a unsubstantiated conclusion. For example, babies like to put things in their mouths. This is common knowledge. However, babies eventually grow up and become adults. If they start by putting things in their mouths, when they get older they might start putting things in other places. Next thing you know, they are putting nuclear weapons in the hands of our nation's enemies. Clearly, it is a slippery slope from babies putting things in their mouths to providing weapons to enemy nations. This absurd example of the slippery slope is no more or less proveable than the slippery slope expounded in the brochure. Whenever someone uses the phrase "slippery slope" to make a point, they have already lost.
