Congress Revisits "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

Tomorrow will mark the first Congressional hearing to evaluate the continued viability of the U.S. military "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy since its inception in 1993.

Much has changed in the way of public opinion over the past fifteen years. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" no longer appears to reflect the attitude of the majority of American citizens.

Oh that's cool. Let us serve, fight, be wounded or killed. But whatever you do don't let them marry each other. Gee thanks.

Don't care about your orientation as long as you do your job. No problems.

Intriging yet disappointing comment made by Senator Jim Webb. "We must listen to service people who live and work in close quaters assigements. They may be uncomfortable with another's sexual orientation." and "If a us tax paying citizen wants to serve their country in the military, they should be able to do it without any problems."

I agree with Jim on both statements, and offer my own position on homophobes. The military as long time moved gays and lesbians right out the door without a good-bye kiss at my expense. Now take my money and move homophobes. Same effort and expense, but now we're handling the issue correctly.
