Just saw the list of theaters Expelled is playing within 250 of the SF Bay Area, a whopping 15, what a success story, to DVD next if they can avoid court.

"Roboblogger", the automated article-finding software used by Topix to generate threads, is going nuts on the Expelled threads. Maybe the Topix servers are proponents of "Intelligent Design". Of course, from a computer's perspective, being designed by a higher power is 100% correct.

Isn't all they have to do to avoid court is remove the copied cell animation and "Imagine" song? They'll do that in a heartbeat, in order to get it on DVD and recoup their financial losses from the disastrous theater experience they're going through.

Some numbers.

According to IMDB, "Expelled" had a 3.5 million dollar budget. That's not counting marketing expenses in the millions, that's just the production costs. As of May 4, had 6.613 million in box office receipts. Last weekend it did a paltry $678,304 on 656 screens nationwide.

Bomb...

People are just not buying the movie's lies. Yippee! There's hope for us yet.

My faith in humankind's eventual maturity is sustained.

Thanks for the supportive figures.

What claptrap, secular academicians have had a forty year headstart with minds like yours. I would be willing to bet they had your mind in your freshmen year. You are as much of a believer as a Christian.

Mankind maturing?? Please! If going from a princess kisses a frog to get a prince to waiting four hundred million years for a frog to become a prince, that kind of maturity...yes if you dare to call that maturity.

This is not a generation of faith but that doesn't touch the gospel or the creation story, it doesn't require your faith to make it true. It does require a great deal of faith to believe that the remains of human kinds 400,000,000 year trek on earth has only produced about a dozen and a half so called iter-species remains and of those the hoaxes and spurious examples have left only about a dozen or less.

We should not be able to dig in our back yards without finding remains but evolutionist are only digging in their minds. Thats a bit too much faith for me.

Rev, name all the "hoaxes" you know, tell us why they were hoaxes, how they were found out and who did so, and what the consequences for the ToE were after this. Cheers.

No, Rev. Christianity has had a 2000 year head start on infecting people with the Jesus meme. And religion in general stretches back into pre-history. It's about time mankind grew up and learned to think for himself.

BTW...Throw out the hoax of Piltdown Man, and the few mistakes like Nebraska Man, and you are still left with thousands of fossils representing dozens of species of proto-humans. Even your little tirade admits they exist. Learn to deal with that fact.

Okay, one person decrying evolution, we have many people ready to defend evolution, those posts have all been judged as "mean, clueless and disagree" many times.

And yet the Rev has yet to come back and address any points raised. Hmmm.

You can definately mark this post down as "mean", Rev. I'd go meaner, but I'd get banned.

If all I had to do was reply to the meanderings of a few pseudo intellectual angry Xers whose confidence is greater than their discernment I'd anwser every one in detail. In normal speak that says, I don't have the time.

But about the hoaxes, its public knowledge go look it up, you know research and compare, that stuff you were not encouraged to do when you first learned Darwinism. And while your at it give equal time to the latest creation research. I hear the echoes of "not likely."

Thats how this all got started.

By the way Christianity is an abitrary choice. Public school 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 12 years is not, it is the law of the land.

Try this, grow up!

Well, Rev, you really need to point out which "hoaxes" you are talking about. I have seen creationists list a lot of hoaxes, almost all of which were not actually hoaxes. You know...they were perpetuation a lie.

The only real hoax I know of in human paleontology is "Piltdown Man". Outside of England, Piltdown Man was never given much credence by scientists. It didn't fit in with other evidence. And, I will note, it was evolutionary scientists that uncovered the hoax.

There are a very few cases of misidentification such as "Nebraska Man". Note that Nebraska Man was accepted by almost no one in the scientific community. And it was evolutionary scientists that set the record straight.

Everything else I have read about creationists pointing out hoaxes have been the result of creationists severely twisting the facts. The fossils are real. No hoaxes involved.

BTW, Rev, do you want to discuss the many, many hoaxes perpetrated in the name of Christianity down through the years? If you feel a hoax discredits ToE, then you must also feel that Christianity is a discredited belief. After all, the same logic applies.

So in other words, you want us all to do YOUR homework? YOU made the assertion that evolution was wrong, so YOU back it up. YOU made the claim of Creation "research" (oh how I'd love to see some) yet every time I ask someone for it I never get an answer. Perhaps you won't disappoint me?

Here's another hoax for ya - Archeoraptor. Which turned out to be two different fossils joined together (so someone could make money, rather than 'invent' evidence for evolution), and again was found to be a hoax by evolutionary scientists.

And we didn't even have to go look these up, Rev. So why not share YOUR knowledge?

Tell that to the millions of brainwashed-from-birth children who DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE until they reach 18. Week in and week out they are FORCED, indoctrinated, brainwashed by the programs their parents force on them.

Tell that to the millions of HOMESCHOOLED fundie kids, who's parents REMOVED them from public schools, so that their brainwashing can become complete.

So that they may grow up to be like YOU.

Oh baloney, I don't want you to do my homework just your own. You have libraries, google, contacts if you want to know something. You just want to sound authoritative and sure. Again baloney!

Yes 12 years of Dawinism for the greatest number of students and some biblical teaching for the remaining few. I'd say thats a whole generation with a mind ful of un-examined, un-provable prior philosophic postulation that takes more faith to believe than creation.

This has bee a charm meeting here with the indoctrinated but you will hear from me no more. Between the silliness, redundancies and my schedule it is time to fade away.

Thanks for all your comments.

I don't hate fundie-zealots.

I pity them.

But.

The ONLY language THEY understand is strong language-- their brains are pretty much atrophied from lackof use.

Nope. Just fundamentalist/literalist types. Creationists.

You know.

Morons.

I'm quite happy, actually.

All it took was casting OFF the trappings of religion.

No more self-loathing. No more trying to keep from "sin" whatever THAT is.

Instead I try to live by the simple rule of "do no deliberate harm to someone else".

And, no, I don't hate them.

I pity them-- for they are willfully ignorant, and wallow in their own mental filth.
