Analysis: Nader targets disaffected Clinton voters

Ralph Nader, the guy some Democrats still love to hate for his 2000 presidential bid they feel gave George Bush the presidency, is nonetheless hoping to attract Democrats and independents whose hearts were broken again when Hillary Rodham Clinton lost the nomination.

The consumer advocate is taking his independent campaign for president to New York next week, where he hopes to show in statewide stops that in a presidential season where 'change' is the mantra, he's the only one with the credentials to claim it.

Would it hurt to spend more time covering the topics that Nader wants to put "on the table"? Such as single payer health care, living wages, no nuclear solar first, an end to the war in Iraq, and fighting the bloated miliatry budget (half of the budget), opposition to this unconscionable Bail Out? Could you present more issues, please? Nader voters are hardly "purists" as Nader attracts people from all over the political spectrum who are fed up with the Two Party Stranglehold on Washington that puts Corporations and Wall Street interests ahead of people. I find nothing "purist" about that.

He's won over a number of my friends in the last couple of weeks because of the bailout. What clearer message could Obama and McCain sent than to side with Wall St crooks over the wishes of the American people? And with our money! Nader is the only one I trust to handle the mess we're in.

Ralph Nader warned us about corporate control of both parties.
He told the truth and was ridiculed for it. Ralph Nader is not for sale. Neither is my vote.

Grassroots, baby!

Let's take our country back from the D/R parties and the corporations who call the shots.

Obama/McCain won't stand for what we citizens need.

I support Nader 2008.

We all need to contact the television stations and explain that vast numbers of liberals, conservatives, republicans, democrats, and independent party folks are EXTREMELY UPSET with the voting records and decisions made by Republicans and Democrats in office.(I contacted all my congressional representatives and they all voted for the bailout.) As the newspapers, radio, and television ignore NADER's perspective, the citizens are feeling completely helpless! I sent out three emails yesterday to major networks asking them to cover Nader and not one responded to my email. We need to continue to write the media.

Last I remember, Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama foreclosed on our country's future by pledging away over a Trillion dollars to Wall Street Speculators. Last I remember, Bill Clinton was the guy who repealed the Glass Stiegal act, thus launching us into the oncoming Recession. Weren't the Democrats the folks who promised Farmer's they fight on their behalf, while instead they helped the banks sell off the family farm. Wasn't Bill Clinton the guy who promised a National Healthcare plan, but renounced that pledge once elected. Isn't he the guy who got hit with a sex scandal, the day after it was announced he traded nuclear launching plans to the Chinese in exchage for campaign contributions. Clinton, yeah, that guy who signed NAFTA, got us further involved in WTO, and sent American jobs overseas, calling it Free Trade, pitting the American worker against slave labor in facist countries. Bill Clinton...the guy who didn't invest in renewables for 8 years, and who didn't even pass legislation for vehicle fuel standards. Oh, and the Florida election...wasn't that where Jeb Bush, Katherine Harris, and other Republicans knocked folks off the ballot, rigged the vote, then the 5 politicians on the Supreme Court illegally annointed George IV King. We've been rewinding this movie for 25 years, and casting a new face in the White House doesn't seem to change the plot. RALPH NADER ON THE OTHER HAND HAS BEEN A CHAMPION FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. He worked to establish the EPA, OSHA, Consumer Safety Laws, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, Freedom of Information Act, and many other organizations and legislation that YOU and other Americans have benefitted from. WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO WAKE UP? There is hardly any difference between the two war mongering, pension stealing, gas guzzling, corporately owned corrupt major parties. It's the Republicans and Democrats who have in a bipartisan fashion dismantled our Democracy.

Its a shame to see Hillary buys into the repulsive Democratic party/Michael Moore/Bill Maher groupthink that blames Nader for Al Gore's loss in 2000.

Ralph Nader doesn't take votes from anybody, any more than other candidates take votes from him.

Ralph Nader EARNS his votes, by stating what he believes.
It is offensive that Kerry and Gore tried to win votes rather than by earning their votes, but by SILENCING Nader.
In a democracy, points of view need to be heard. The Democrats and Republicans are responsible for the current mess we are in.

Therefore the public should be looking for alternatives from the politics and policies that got us into this mess. America is best served by abandoning the b.s. argument that we must vote for the lesser of two evils.

We are encouraged to settle. America deserves the best. America deserves candidates that are not beholden to special interests and don't have preserving the status quo as a top priority in mind.

That is why I am voting for Ralph Nader.

I just want to thank and agree with all those who commented before me. They all did a better job covering the real issues involved then the corpoRATe media hack who wrote the article they commented on!

Shame on the "writer" who has a chance to do an "analysis" of issues raised in the most important election in my 50 year lifetime, and does a cheap cut and paste apology for the two parties of the apocalypse instead.

It stuns me that ap and the other corpoRATe media outlets pay these people to produce middle school level work like the article above!

I'm voting NADER, for real change!

Ralph Nader is being censored by the
mainstream media. They do not allow him on their networks or programs. Nader should be allowed on as his views need to be heard even if you do not agree with him. I would like to know a more honest man, a man who stands by his beliefs and is not a hypocrite, a man who has not sold his soul to anybody, etc. His whole life he has fought hard for the people against corporate greed and exploitation and pointed out inequities where they have existed.
He has pointed out waste and corruption in government and private industry. Corporations who pollute the enviornment and don't care about
consumers who purchase products that are dangerous to our health and well
being, he has gone after all of them
his whole life.
We should all be grateful for all that he has done.
There should be more people like Ralph Nader fighting for us but sadly he is a one of a kind. Ralph Nader is a real hero. It is a shame that he is being censored at this important time with all that is going on right now.

Is Ralph gay? If he is, does that mean he doesn't stand a chance of being elected?

When your opponents get hundreds of hours of mainstream media coverage every week, and you are lucky to get one minute, why do you keep running? Because you're a real American, full of conviction and courage.

Godspeed Mr. Nader.

I am one of those disaffected Hillary voters who has put my support squarely behind Ralph Nader. It was the bailout that did it for me. If we could get Ralph and the other third party candidates into the debate, then we'd have a debate on the REAL issues that real Americans care about.

Don't vote the lesser of two evils. Vote for someone you can believe in. Join me in voting for Nader.

Everyone needs to speak up. We are all tired of politics as usual. Let the media know it's time to end the exclusive, disproportianate coverage of Democrats and Repuiblicans. Call, write, send and forward emails on political issues that the media isn't covering. Don't give up. An article in today's Detroit Free Press showed facts about the imbalance of wealth that are more astounding than ever. Don't stand for politics as usual. Make your voice heard. Discuss with friends, relatives, neighbors, co-workers. You'd be surprised how many people agree, but don't want to speak up. Don't let up! Ralph Nader has dedicated his entire adult life to the people. I will continue to speak out from now on. It's the least I can do. I proudly wear my Nader t-shirts, proudly display my signs, and proudly display bumber stickers... however, that's not enough. We must all do more. Write to our leaders in Washington, as well as leaders within your state government.

Obama is a pawn of the same plutocracy that owns the Republican party. If you examine his record, you will find that on every really important vote, he has voted with the Republicans. He is a total fraud.

I will proudly vote for Ralph Nader. I refuse to abide by the unwritten rule that proclaims we must choose the lesser of two evils. Obama is evil every bit as much as is McCain.

I was leaning toward Nade (I voted for him in 2004, and the bailout cinched it. I was hoping that one of the two idiots would really take a stand and represent the people of this nation. Instead, they voted to get votes. There is no difference really between the two. Nothing ever changes. And we, the American people are getting screwed by politicians who care more about themselves and the next election than public service.
NADER FOR PRESIDENT!!!
