The number of fake names attached to Sen. Barack Obama's campaign contributions continues to inch up as news outlets and political researchers page through thousands of pages of donor listings.

Just for the record, I am a foreigner and altho I contributed a lot of opinions here (on the basis that American foreign policies affect internal activities in the whole wide world, including mine, and as part of the human race, and as taught by American-styled democracy and freedom of expression)...I have not contributed a cent to any US Presidential candidate. I don't even do that to our own Presidential candidates here.

I know that is illegal and foreigners could get caught because many years ago, a countryman contributed to one Presidential kitty and he got repatriated and jailed in the US.

Besides, names may be fake online but when it is time to contribute, you can't fake names in credit cards. And so it will be so easy to trace the citizenship of the donor, if ever one foreigner was so stupi_d to do that.
