Obama: Iraq now needs a political solution

Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama declined to rate the Bush administration's troop surge in Iraq a success on Tuesday despite a reduction in violence, and expressed understanding of Gen. David Petraeus' opposition to a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops.

I would like to put some faith and trust in Barack Obama, as it seems as if he may likely be our next President. I am honest and I do not play games. World politics is too small to being doing such things and often many human lives are at stake. So, I refuse to play games.

I feel somehow compelled to worship Obama. There seems to be no other way to this man. Either you think like he does or he will refuse your nation of 1.3 billion people from buying and selling.

Is the rest of America like this man?

I am the chief independent Iraq war negotiator, who in 1990 secured Saddam agreement to withdraw as well as to terms of an entire peace accord outlined by me.

I wrote to Obama from about a year ago and he has stubbornly refused to answer!

What do you readers of this forum think about the man? I would like to hear the pros and cons from all of you and no bashing, please!

and joined 14 groups. Mostly anti-war sites. I sent them about four articles and they, when I checked today, refused to post these articles for their members to read. My articles only appear on my site.

I am having doubts about the honest and integrity of this man.

Can anyone shed some light on this subject so I'll have a better idea of what is going on?

In the heat of the battle, I could be wrong. In the heat of the battle Barack could have misunderstood. Almost anything could happen. So, by being a good Christian and by always extending myself to others in peace, I leave the door open to further communication.

I am not perfect and neither is Barack Obama.

I am not impressed with Obama. He admits that the surge was a success, but was against it from the beginning. If we did Obama's way, he would have chosen defeat in Iraq.

Isn't it amazing how the Obama supporters just follow this loser on blind faith? It's all due to what they perceive as his "charisma" and nothing else. It can't be anything else because everytime he make a policy statement about anything it shows his total lack of experience.

They just follow this guy like the pied piper, la de dah. It's obvious the education and intelligence level of the average Democrat is fairly low as well.

They totally ignore all the stupid things Obama says, and don't seem to care that his tax everyone to death ideas will wreck our foundering economy. Maybe they just aren't smart enough to understand anything more than "change". They think he's anti war but in reality he says he wants to increase troops in Afghanistan and along the Pakistan border, and abandon Iraq.

I think the average Obama supporter is basically just a very uninformed individual that really doesn't even understand what Obama's agenda really is.

I mean Obama is a guy who can't even admit the surge has been a tremendous success, and says he wouldn't vote for it even today, with everyone, even the libs media saying it's been a huge success.

Terry on Nightline was even looking at him in dis-belief when he refuse to admit the success of it. I think Obama is coming apart at the seams. Oh, he'll still get the hard core lib vote, and the uninformed immature college kid vote, but he's lost all credibility with anyone who is really serious about this and it paying attention.

What a good post! I couldn't agree more, other than I don't like Hillary. But your point about the rest of the world wanting Obama to become President is excellent. When I've spoken to people who have immigrated here they tell me that the rest of the world is just jelous of the United States. I think it's human nature to want to see whoever's #1 knocked off their pedestal.

The rest of the world sees Obama as a way to make that happen, and they want to see him get in for that reason. No one should kid themselves, the rest of the world doesn't care about us. They just want to see us in their rear view mirror rather than the other way around. With Obama as President we'll be sitting by the side of the road waiting for a wrecker to tow us away.
