LIFE WITH BIG BROTHER
GOP star to get chip implant Tommy Thompson signs up with VeriChip July 22, 2005 / http://tinyurl.com/d3adl Former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson has volunteered to get an RFID electronic chip implant to show the world just how safe the new technology is. The former secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services in President Bush's first term sees it as a potentially life-saving move because the chip will have details of his medical history should he ever be in an accident. Thompson will be among the first humans to get the chip. Pets have been routinely chipped at pounds and veterinarians' offices in recent years. http://www.spychips.com Thompson, who recently joined the board of directors of VeriChip, said he believed the technology was an important and secure means of accessing medical records and other information. Thompson sees the chip as extremely useful for doctors requiring personal information that will help medical professionals and others provide emergency treatment. The chips contain a 16-digit identification code that can be scanned at hospitals and then linked to a database that contains users' medical data. Thompson said he will receive the implant when more hospitals have the scanning technology, which could be "as soon as six months to a year." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp... |

Tommy 'the Chip' Thompson
http://tinyurl.com/2qeve5 / April 10, 2007 But there is another reason I won't be voting for Tommy Thompson: He wants us all to be "chipped" with Radio Frequency Identification and sits on the board of the VeriChip Corp., a company currently talking to the Pentagon about inserting the grain-sized microchip into American citizens, beginning with our soldiers. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp... |

2 And, with all of his backtracking it also should not surprise anyone that he has once again backtracked from his previous stated stance of "refusing to let President Bush put protections for special interests ahead of our security and our liberty." Obama has no integrity. |

VERIZON & AT&T SPY ON ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS
Telecom Whistleblower Discovers Circuit that Allows Access to All Systems on Wireless Carrier—Phone Calls, Text Messages, Emails and More / April 10, 2008 / http://tinyurl.com/4u8nla Babak Pasdar is a computer security expert who was hired in 2003 to help restructure the tech infrastructure at a major wireless telecommunications company. What he found shocked him. The company had set up a system that gave a third party, presumably a governmental entity, access to every communication coming through that company’s infrastructure. This means every email, internet use, document transmission, video, text message, as well as the ability to listen to and record any phone call. http://www.democracynow.org/2008/4/10/telecom... |

Spy Agency Sought U.S. Call Records Before 9/11, Lawyers Say
http://tinyurl.com/egle8 June 30 (Bloomberg)-- The U.S. National Security Agency asked AT&T Inc. to help it set up a domestic call monitoring site seven months before the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, lawyers claimed June 23 in court papers filed in New York federal court. The allegation is part of a court filing adding AT&T, the nation's largest telephone company, as a defendant in a breach of privacy case filed earlier this month on behalf of Verizon Communications Inc. and BellSouth Corp. customers. The suit alleges that the three carriers, the NSA and President George W. Bush violated the Telecommunications Act of 1934 and the U.S. Constitution, and seeks money damages. ``The Bush Administration asserted this became necessary after 9/11,'' plaintiff's lawyer Carl Mayer said in a telephone interview.``This undermines that assertion.'' The lawsuit is related to an alleged NSA program to record and store data on calls placed by subscribers. More than 30 suits have been filed over claims that the carriers, the three biggest U.S. telephone companies, violated the privacy rights of their customers by cooperating with the NSA in an effort to track alleged terrorists. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news... |

Brown and Cameron clash over ID
http://tinyurl.com/2gubb4 4 July 2007 Gordon Brown and David Cameron have clashed over plans to introduce identity cards in their first prime minister's questions encounter. Mr Cameron, whose Conservatives oppose the cards, said they would "cause more problems than they solve" and had not stopped terror attacks abroad. But Mr Brown, who raised the issue, said they were needed as they were "complementary" to other policies. He called on all political parties to show "unity in the face of terror". http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/6... |
