The Boston Globe By Sally Jacobs (Globe staff/June 15,2008) Her full name was Michelle LaVaughn Robinson. She was so tall that her head seemed to brush the sloping ceiling of the cramped fourth-floor room. She was Donnelly's new roommate. And she was black. As Catherine Donnelly climbed the stairs to her dorm room at Princeton University over a quarter-century ago, the Louisiana freshman felt ready for whatever lay ahead. But then she met Michelle. "Michelle early on began to hang out with other black students," said Donnelly, now a lawyer in Palmetto, Ga. "Princeton was just a very segregated place. I wish now that I had pushed harder to be friends, but by the same token she did not invite me to do things either." This is a Key Observation made by Donnelly. If white people don’t go out of their way, make the effort to bring down the barriers between the races NOTHING HAPPENS, NOTHING CHANGES. Blacks, as Michelle Obama showed at Princeton, do not go out of their way to socialize and befriend – unconditionally – white people. From school yards, to campuses, across prison yards and neighborhoods it is all too clear that blacks prefere the company of blacks. One gets the impression that Blacks see freedom as a tool to legally remain seperated/segregated from the rest of society. If white Americans do NOT include people – people of color – they are automatically labled racists. What do you call black Americans who do NOT include unconditionally – white people – as part of their lives? Racist, perhaps? Blacks view white people from the vantage point of – what is in it for them, what can they gain. Such as a place at an Ivy League College, internship at a law firm, candidate for President of the United States. White people sacrifice a lot to give blacks opportunites they otherwise would never get. Michelle Obama didn’t break across the racial barrier at Princeton. She moved among those who shared a similar shade of brown. The white people she knows – how many of them would she befriend unconditionally? They are all pawns in the great liberal game of affirmative action ensuring that Mr. and Mrs. Obama can keep on taking, taking and the take some more. What have they given back to all those whom they have abused in pursuit of the good ol’ white-styled suburban life and the quest to make history of BECOMING the first black president? Michelle Obama's salary at UC Hospitals when her husband won the US Senate seat was $121,000. Within weeks of his swearing in, the salary went to over $320,000. She's now VP for Community Affairs. So did the taxpayers end up paying for Michelle's pay raise for Barack's six year term? The most important part of this story is the sequence of events: 1) Barack gets elected to the Senate; 2) Obama secures million dollar grant for this very well endowed private institution. Among them was a request for $1 million in federal funding in 2006 for a new pavilion at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where his wife, Michelle Obama, was a vice president at the time. 3) Michelle Obama’s University of Chicago salary jumps from $121,000 to more than $300,000; Now she has the arrogance to complain about how bad American society is and tell us she that "for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country”. Then we have to listen to her complain about how they have struggled financially (recently paying off their student loans!). In the first place, my guess is their college and law school years were heavily subsidized by scholarships. And too bad they had to pay off student loans-just like all us common people. TAKE , TAKE AND TAKE SOME MORE YOU GREEDY LITTLE BLACK PUPPETS.

Polls are absolutely worthless and don't determine elections. I remember the polls favoring John Kerry as well back in 2004, but look where he is now.

I don't include unconditionally any white people in my life EVER and I'm white. It is the dysfunctional codependent who trusts unconditionally and then gets mad when others fail them, never once occurring to them to notice that their approach is juvenile, naive and inappropriate. Unconditional is meant for God. Humans were given skills by the creator to treat our fellow humans with intelligent discernment so they may rightfully earn our trust as relationships grow. Here is where your whole argument crumbles. There was enough prejudice at Princeton back then to leave the few black students feeling very isolated. No wonder they sought each other's company. Yet you blame the black students for that? Michelle's roommate's mother pitched a very visable fit over her daughter housing with a black student. That undoubtedly set a very unfriendly tone. Guess that would be Michelle's fault too, eh?

Good to see you and thanks for the great post review. I've been a big fan of Rasmussen almost from their beginning. I find them well reasoned in their "markets" and analysis and meticulously documented in their polls. The last time they gave odds on the White House just before they switched to general election mode, it was 64-ish% in favor of Dems. Given how McCain is only now experiencing any real vetting process, given how Obama tends to climb more than anything when he actively campaigns, given how I see McCain and his supporters going down the same path Hillary used-- I tend to believe that 64% is likely even with all the ups and downs we'll go through before v-day. I am concentrating my efforts in GOTV -- getting out the vote. I'm suggesting we take nothing for granted -- and wouldn't a bit of a landslide be something!
