Clinton Supporter Won't Vote for Obama Because "He's a Muslim"

It seems, no matter what you tell people, they still won't believe it. Despite the fact that many use Rev. Wright as a weapon against Obama - which would tend to indicate that he's not a Muslim - many still believe, no matter what they are told.

I saw it on channel 7 news today in Chicago. It was from CNN. The woman was an elderly White woman who had just voted.


She stated she did not vote for Obama because he's Muslim.
I reporter queried her and went on to explain that Senator Obama is not Muslim- his father is Muslim. She refused to believe it.

Sad that an elder, probably some one's mother, grandmother, sister, aunt could live so long on this earth and escape the value of critical thinking.

What does being Muslim mean to this woman? I could debate this in so many ways her head would spin.

Part of me is secretly glad that the world can get a bird's eye view on racism in this country. Part of me is fearful because I'm afraid of where we are headed

Each and every one of us in America has espoused racists views at one time or another. It's part of the human condition of living in a melting pot. Racially homogeneous cultures divide and conquer on other sticking points.

The difference between me and these "all-day racists" is I may get angry and think some terrible thoughts, but I eventually have a reflective moment and I know it's the individual I'm angry with and not their entire race or culture.

I don't purposely set out to treat someone badly or differently because of their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, etc.

She very well could go her her grave with those fears, just 2 weeks ago 3 black men dressed as Muslim women walked into ShopRite and held up a bank, One of our Philadelphia police was shot to death with an assault rifle, be afraid grandma
