UPDATED: Wagner College's upset bid at Monmouth falls short with end zone interception

Brian Gehring's high pass into the far left corner of the end zone seemed to hang in the rainy Jersey Shore air for an unbearable amount of time as the fate of Wagner College's football game against Monmouth hung in the balance of one play. The football finally descended into the opportunistic hands of Monmouth freshman Mike Basile, a 6-foot-1 Brick Memorial strong safety.

Campus Corner: Swales Totals 115 All-Purpose Yards for Lock Haven

Junior running back Beau Swales rushed for 78 yards on 22 carries in his first start for Lock Haven Saturday, but the Bald Eagles were denied a win in their opener when West Virginia State scored a touchdown early in the fourth quarter to pull out a 19-14 victory at Lankin Field. Swales also caught two passes for eight yards and returned two kickoffs for 29 yards as he went over the 1,000-yard mark for all-purpose yards in his career.

Florida International spanks Wagner College in Miami rout, 34-3

Wagner College's annual pilgrimage into college football's highest division didn't work out so well for the second straight season. Florida International of Conference USA pounded the Seahawks in a one-sided game Saturday night, 34-3, dominating the Northeast Conference visitors from start to finish before 9,981 fans at FIU Stadium.

Boys Basketball: Aaman headed to Wagner

After getting his release from the University of Rhode Island earlier this year, Aaman will transfer to Wagner College, the school he originally committed to out of high school, says Raritan boys basketball coach Denis Caruano late Sunday night.
