UCF Coach George O'Leary still won't speak to Orlando Sentinel

I am glad to see George O'Leary and UCF standing firm in their morals to not speak with the Sentinel until a proper apology is made to UCF and the rest of the Orlando community for the irresponsible reporting on Ereck Plancher's unfortunate death. The Sentinel has really become a disgrace to the entire Orlando community.

Thank goodness its not the newspaper I rely on.

Maybe the Sentinel should just not ever mention UCF - no reporting of their games - no showing their schedule - no mention of their medical school -then all could be happy

The days of yellow journalism are (or were) over. Nice to see a school take a stand when they are being unfairly railroaded. It is interesting how the Slantinel mentions GOL's name at the beginning of each article on the unfortunate death of a player. He was present, he supervised the workout, etc... feel free to metion that he drove in the stake as long as you're at it.
No wonder you can't get an interview.

Yes. The Slantinel sports "reporters" tried and failed to create a controversy. Football training is hard. At that level of competition it needs to be. If you have a serious medical condition, then you should not be there. The Slantinel wants them to put skirts on the players.

Why would he. This stupid paper has dragged his name through the mud for no reason. I hate the Orlando Sentinel and have now removed any advertisement dollars that was being spent on your paper.

A similar thing happened when Steve Spurrier came to the Gators. He told Larry Guest how things were going to be.

It's pretty obvious you don't know what you're talking about. U.C.F. is a fine instution, for your informsation, and O'Leary has brought the football program out of the wilderness and has a winning record.
So if you've never made a mistake in your life, go ahead and spout off!!!

Way to go GOL, Dont speak to the only news outlet in the country that covers your CUSA program, Hope the Big East is taking notice. UCF dosent like something and they act like a 5 year old. Pretty funny stuff out of Mickey Mouse University.

I love how most of you hate the sentinel but still log on to get your news and ramble on..... hypocrisies are strong and alive in Orlando & ucf

UCF...what a joke.They were better as FTU. No one takes them serious. Their professors are bottom of the barrel just like their sports programs.

The situation with Spurrier and Larry Guest was totally different. He had an issue with a writer not the entire paper. Plus, he still had every other paper in thse state covering his program. If the Sentinel doesn't cover UCF, who will? Both sides need to sit down and work it out, IMO.

Most of us don't get news from the Slantinel. How could you? There is no news. But these forums are fun, as long as they don't censor offensive (i.e. true) posts.
