All indications pointed to the Mavericks coming home from the Drake Hy-Vee Classic with the championship trophy as UTA held a seven-point lead with 7:39 to play.

Marquez Haynes had 22 points and Brandon Long had 18 points and nine rebounds to lead Texas-Arlington past North Dakota 75-65 Friday night in the first round of the Drake Hy-Vee Classic.

Josh White wasn't around for all the heartbreak that North Texas has experienced over the last three years in its series with UT-Arlington. But he had been around for enough of it to thoroughly enjoy it when the Mean Green broke through in dramatic fashion for a 101-99 win on Wednesday in double overtime at Texas Hall.
