Hawks soar to Augusta Civic Center, but Tigers keep islanders ...

It is many high school basketball team's dream to earn an appearance in the regional tournament at the Augusta Civic Center and the North Haven squads made an early-season appearance at that venue on Wednesday, Dec. 13. Now the Hawks hope, if they can fly as high as they hope, to make a return trip to the coveted facility for the Class D South high school playoffs at the end of the winter court campaign. The Hawks met Forest Hills at the geographical halfway point between Rockland and Jackman for Wednesday's midday doubleheader in games that saw the Tiger girls emerge with a 38-31 victory in a largely competitive affair.
