There's good news and bad news following Southern Miss' 70-59 Conference USA win at Tulane on Saturday.
The good news?
The Golden Eagles (15-11) are in a three-way tie for fourth place in the conference race with UTEP and Central Florida at 7-5.
The bad news?
Southern Miss plays at second-place Houston tonight before returning home to play first-place Memphis on Saturday and UTEP on March 5.
In a span of seven days, the Golden Eagles will be in a position to grab a third, fourth or fifth seed in the Conference USA Tournament or face an uphill battle as a sixth, seventh or even an eighth seed. Read more
