The Broncos have a very good coordinator to handle the defense,and Orton is a better quarterback then many people give him credit to be. I am not ready to sell the team short.

How many people sold the Rockies short? Beat out the Giants and the Rockies could be a serious contender to take it all.

Orton is an average qb....Cutler was/is a top 5 or 6 qb. Unless the defense make huge strides, the offense will be in trouble as they will not match the point output from last year. Could be a long year. At least they have two number one draft choices next year......or, wait, we traded a potential top ten pick for a number two pick this year. Nice job coach!

Both views are legit. Those that are hopeful can point to beliefs of 'it always has to get a little worse before it gets better when you start over'. While those that are deeply concerned have reason to be when the structure of a pretty sound orginization gets torn apart in a couple of months. Big gamble for possible big gains- probably better to look long term than expect early success. Either way, it is a big roll of the dice in an attempt to make an early splash. If it works, the next genius is born. Just don't sell that house back in Boston because you may need it.
