Late fumble served as motivation for Morgan State's Herb Walker Jr.

By the middle of the fourth quarter of Morgan State 's 28-3 win over Bowie State at Hughes Stadium on Saturday, running back Herb Walker Jr. had gained 118 yards, marking the third straight game in which the team had a 100-yard rusher. But with 3:27 left, the redshirt sophomore was stripped of the football by Bulldogs junior linebacker Robert Burke, and redshirt junior outside linebacker Jonathan Harris pounced on the loose ball at the Bears ' 41-yard line.

Morgan State starts slow, finishes strong in 28-3 win over Bowie State

After starting fast but finishing poorly in its first two games, the Morgan State football team flipped the script Saturday. The Bears overcame a lethargic start, woke up their sleeping offense and scored all four of the game's touchdowns in the second half to knock off visiting Bowie State, 28-3, before an announced 4,238 at Hughes Stadium.

State football: Morgan State loses to Holy Cross on last play

Shane Taylor scored from 1 yard out as time expired to give host Holy Cross a 29-26 victory over Morgan State on Saturday. Taylor ran for 78 yards and two touchdowns, while Peter Pujals went 16-for-29 for 193 yards and a score to lead Holy Cross , which bounced back after squandering a fourth-quarter lead in its opener.

Family, friends gather to remember Morgan State's Marquese Meadow

Mourners stood outside the home of Benita Meadow, Marquese Meadow's mother, to reflect on the life of the 18-year old, who died on Sunday, two weeks after collapsing during a practice on Aug. 10. An autopsy revealed that complications related to heat stroke caused Meadow's death, which was ruled accidental.
