MU becomes first 12th seed to win
The 12th-seeded Missouri Tigers pulled off an historic upset against Oklahoma in the opening round of the Big 12 women's basketball tournament.
The Tigers shocked No. 5 OU in overtime 70-64, becoming the first 12th seed to win a game in the tournament.
Sophomore Amanda Hanneman, a Blue Springs South product, hit the game-tying three-pointer with 15.7 seconds remaining in regulation. OU failed to get off a shot in the waning seconds and the game went into overtime at 53-53. Although the Sooners quickly turned to the coaches' Big 12 player of the year Courtney Paris to open overtime, MU depended on junior Alyssa Hollins to score the next seven points. Read more
