I mean the great flood of Biblical times was pretty bad, the stock market buy-out, not so good either. But this football program with it's paltry five wins and a new stadium on it's way and a loyal and appreciative and growing fan base, it's right up there with black monday.

They need to get serious about winning and quit accepting mediocrity at best. Florida fired Zook when he went 7-4, MN would put him in the hall of fame. Wisconsin did it, Illinois is doing it and even NU went to the Rose Bowl. Win BT games and keep winning, get a top notch coach and AD who demands winning. They have 40 years of failure to overcome

He would beat up Little Sisters of the Poor College and win 2-3 big 10 games and that's about it. Tim Brewster was brought in to take the program up to a Wisconsin/Michigan/Ohio State level. He may not succeed but let's give the guy 4-5 seasons, especially with the improvement shown this year. Who knows, they may already be back to Glen Mason-esque, not bad for the 2nd season of a program. I hope he succeeds. But some people wish for failure and not success.

Do you know what his record was his first year at Illinois? 2-9 and 0-8 in the Big Ten. Do you know what his record was his second year? It was worse! 2-10 and 1-7 in the Big Ten. Matt, why should we play at the Michigan, OSU, PSU level? Which of the factors that they have working for them do we have? The best our program is going to be over any part of the next 20 years is that we become a stronger program that can occasionally beat one or more of those elite programs. We have nothing in common with any of the top ten reasons they finish ahead of us. For one example, they have a core fan base in the tens of thousands, ours is no more than 10,000.
