Injury to CB Marcus Sherels could shake up Minnesota Gophers' defense
Part of the reason the University of Minnesota football team's defense has been so consistent through the first six games this season is because it has been injury-free. But the Gophers might have to play ...

"I don't know whether or not it was a dislocation that had to go back in," Gophers coach Tim Brewster said.
He is the coach, and he doesn't know what the injury was? Doesn't he talk to the trainers, or team physician? It certainly looked like a dislocated shoulder to me. I can understand Coach Brew not wanting to talk about players private lives, or not wanting to give information to the opposition, but I think his claiming not to know the extent of the injury was kind of lame. Go Gophers! |

2 Relax...he knows what's going on...coaches don't let the public know everything and rightfully so...he is just playing the game. |

Sherels is a stud and is this teams mini Charles Woodson. Hoping he can play as he can shut down his side of the ball. Put a shoulder harness on him and give him some cortisone.

They better hope that Sherel can play. Collado is a disaster playing cornerback. He's so afraid of getting burned deep that he plays 10-15 yards off the receivers. That's why he has so many tackles, he's coming back and tackling the receiver after he's already completed the pass. It could be a very, very long day for the Gophers if he's their only option. Play Stoudemire, at least he seems to have the speed and quicks to cover somebody.

Brewster, just offer new Minnesota Wild Mascot "Nordy" a scholarship... He's like 6'-4" and he looks like a freaking gopher...

1 First, I am already relaxed. I can assure you that is not a problem for me. Second, you made my point. His claiming not to know the extent of the injury is lame, because of course he knows. He just doesn't see fit to share the information. But to claim he doesn't know assumes that we are idiots, buffoons, or worse. |

He's learning.
Let Illinois figure it out for themselves. |

Calm down, Buddy. |

Certainly hope Sherels can play on Saturday. Hopefully it's no longer than maybe one week off, we need his cover skills and toughness on the D. It will be a long day on that corner with Collado chasing Illini receivers from behind.
