Well this is the first time that Marve is able to play, since he redshirted last year. So, Randy is sticking to his word, I don't see the big deal.

Bad timing? When ever is it a good time to get arrested? Is there a good day of the week to get it done? No. Marve got in trouble and now he's getting pinched for it.

How many games did Preston Parker get susspended for when get got popped with weed and a gun? Ronnie Wilson was kicked off the team and then let back. I mean he only squeezed off some shots from an AK-47. Mike Jenkins at USF got arrested for disturbing the peace last year, anything happen to him? Umm nope.

Kudos to Shannon for setting the example that no one is above the TEAM. It doesnt matter if you are a starter or a walk-on. You are all held to the same standard.

Sounds like Michael Cunningham doesn't like discipline and doesn't have all his facts before writing his article. Marve was suspended for a team violation, period. It doesn't matter what it was for. Coach Shannon is the head coach and all the players on the roster are held accountable under the same rules. Why with undertones that winning is more important than correcting discipline issues that plagued this program from the Coker era. It's early in this teams development and he molding the unit of boys into men. Give it time and stop second guessing every small move. Yes, if your truly a Cane fan you know that with such a young team there will be ups and downs. But give it a chance!

i'd rather have shannon than smarmy lou holtz or the former coach from nebraska (tom what's his name). they were great spinners and lousy coaches, who really didn't care about the end results of the type of person the player became--look no further than the neb player, lawrence phillips, who threw his g'friend down a set of stairs. he was never disciplined or lost game time and certainly didn't succeed in the nfl despite being given a few chances.

I agree Mavre should have received punishment earlier; at the same time Coach Shannon is responsible for the team, please allow him to coach.

Shandel, I usually love what you write, and this is no different, except for the fact that you say we will lose to UF. Honestly, if we lost it wouldnt be a suprise, but UF has lost 5 guys to ACL's, their defense is suspect at best, and Percy Harvin may not even suit up til the UT game, I am liking our chances more and more everyday. I wish Marve would have a game under his belt before the swamp, but hey Shannon must see something, he must be playing well to be named the starter already for next week! Go Canes!

Everyone wants to make Shannon the bad guy....but nobody is addressing the possibility that this Marve kid is looking like either a problem or extremely unlucky. Not exactly what you want as a team leader.

Thug U is a really talented team this year. This being said, we see a Top 15 finish.

I played with Randy (Onion) at Norland, he does what he says and means what he does. All coaches should follow. The media has an unfair forum to state their opnion which they confuse with a news worthy fact.
