Memphis hopes to find its offense versus UTEP

Full story: El Paso Times

Up until UTEP reversed the course of its season a week ago, Memphis was a bit of a mirror image to the Miners.

The tallest receiving crew in the nation?? thats not good, our D-backs are small. I hope experience (the UTEP secondary) can out match their athleticism (the tall receivers). That guy Curtis Steele is going to be a big problem for the UTEP 3 man front. Hopefully Mike Price and the boys can pull another rabbit out of the hat for this one. The UTEP O-line will be the deciding factor for both teams in this game, rest assured.

Will the tigers find some offense? YES. Will it make a diffrence in the game? NO. Miners have all the weapons on offense they need to outscore the tigers in this game. It usually doesnt matter how good a WR is or how tall he is when a QB can't get him the ball. Example Buffalo Bills TO no tds not many grabs, and hes the best or 2nd best Wr in the league. So dont expect much from the Tigers who are ranked 102 in total offense. We beat down the 3 best offense in college we can beat the 102. Keep those penalties down thou.

GOOOOOOOO MINERS

To Jas, and Rav.

UTEP has no defense. Get it? UTEP corners cannot cover people their size let alone anyone taller. I want UTEP to win. Until they can show me a good defensive game, I have to go with the opponent to win. Scoring all those points against Houston was a fluke.

WOW you have not seen the other games i think, or seen them play. The uytep secondary is the best part of our D. PLus the tigers QB is not really a great QB or a good one at that. And i guess u havent seen trevor the last two season or the Utep offense, they average what 35 points per game and about 40 points a game at home. Dude check out your stats before you post a stupid comment. Didnt i just post that the Tiger Offense is about 112th in the country we beat the what 2nd or 3rd best off and you think we cant beat a 112th off you really are dumb.

To dearest Rav:

I was not rude to you. I merely stated my opinion. I have seen all the games. I pay to watch them on the internet. The corners are not the best part of the defense. It is a total defensive failure. The tackling is atrocious. Mikey Price will not or cannot do anything to change it either. I have followed the Miners since the Don Maynard days. Not that this matters going into the Memphis game. Stats don't mean crap. How did Tony Homo and Roy 'the boy' become part of this? That is a whole and I do mean whole different ball game. Your from Oklahoma. I am a Oklahoma football fan when the Miners don't do good. I know the Boz. I worked with her sister for many years. He knows his defense. I don't think my comments are stupid. We beat the number two or third best offense (Houston) at that time in the country so you say. I am sure you are right. How did Houston's defense rate? Duh!!!! I am sure Memphis 'D' rates a wee better. I know the Memphis offense sucks. The game is in Memphis also. Rav, is that short for Ravi Shankar the famous India sitar player from Woodstock, etc.? Have a nice day.
