Riley likes Chalmers' shot
After making the long shot, Mario Chalmers never figured he'd turn into a long shot.
But there was the Kansas point guard, drifting through the entire first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday before the Heat rescued him by trading for the fourth pick of the second round.
Now the defensive stopper is ready to go on the offensive.
'It was a little disappointing,' the cousin of NBA veterans Lionel Chalmers and Chris Smith said Friday. 'It was a little shock.'
Chalmers knows plenty about shock. It was his 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left in regulation of the NCAA championship game that forced overtime against Memphis and eventually led to Kansas' fifth national title.
