Williams headed to the Big Apple

A small-town girl with big-city game, Ashland High School girls basketball star Georgia Williams has decided to take that game to the Big Apple. Williams, a senior at AHS, has verbally committed to play basketball for Columbia University in New York City, where she plans on studying engineering at the Ivy League school and, she hopes, lead the Lions back to prominence.

NYC Basketball Hall of Fame

The 25th New York City Basketball Hall of Fame will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at the famed New York Athletic Club on central Park South on 59th street. This year's inductees are players are Craig "Speedy" Claxton, Felipe Lopez, Mike Riordan and Charlie Davis .

M. Dianne Murphy and Columbia Earn ECAC Recognitions

DANBURY , Conn. Eastern College Athletic Conference Commissioner Dr. Kevin T. McGinniss has announced Columbia Athletics Director Dr. M. Dianne Murphy was selected as one of three 2013-14 ECAC Female Administrators of the Year.
