There were many uncertainties surrounding the Charlotte 49ers entering this basketball season.
The 49ers answered one with a 20-win season that included a fourth-place finish in the Atlantic 10 Conference, two league tournament victories and a trip to the National Invitation Tournament.
On Friday, the other looming uncertainty was resolved when Charlotte's board of trustees approved an extension for four additional years for coach Bobby Lutz to carry him through the 2012-13 season.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the contract includes a pay raise and financial incentives related to several issues, including performance, sources confirmed. Read more
