Terrible Ted?? Do you mean, Terrible Ted- NFL G.M. of the Year?? Clearly you are high.
|
|
I would give gb an 'F' grade in this years draft.
Now he signs 11 undrafted rookies to make up for his gaffe. gb, a doomed franchise |
|
He is a joke, isn't he? |
|
|
ted knows what hes doing. don't get fooled by big names that other teams will pick. ted is the best at finding gems and not falling for bust. jordy nelson will be a special player even though we are already deep at wide reciver.

TT I CANT STAND THAT MAN HE'S NEVER GONE GET THA PACKERS A CHAMPIONSHIP CAUSE HE DOSEN TAKE CHANCES OWN BIGTIME PLAYERS EVEN THO THEY GOT THA MONEY AND I BET THATS THA REASON Y FARVE DONE IS BECAUSE OF TT HE GOT LUCKY LAST SEASON WE NEEDED A GOOD RUNNINBACK R CORNER NOT WIDEOUT FOR THA FIRST PIC

Okay explain how he is doing bad. He moves down in drafts to scarf up more players. this team is not going anywhere but up and I predict them in the playoffs again this year. You all TT haters are stupid and have no knowledge about how things work. Look at Brady, look at Grant, look at many other late round draft picks that have turned into great players. He wants to sign the most players to see who would be the best at each position. It wasnt like we NEED something currently, our team is stacked, so we moved down to get more picks so we could have more to choose from when we pick starters.

The Pack had needs last year that were glaring and were lucky to make the championship game. Imagine what would have happened if we had a couple of guards who could block and had had a running game in the loss to the NYG. We would have won hands down. Alternatively, we needed another strong D-back to slow down Manning, who was also fortunate to have a good O-line and running attack. TT's draft did little to address those glaring weaknesses, which Favre helped cover up on the O-side with his masterful 2007 performance. No QB is going to be successful until the Packers have a consistent running game, and that requires better guards.

The packers will never win a superbowl with the likes of TT. We will be lucky to win the division title.

1. drafting for need is A BAD IDEA 2. overpaying for free agents is ALSO A BAD IDEA 3. TT has taken the packers from 4-12 to 13-3 in 2 years, he knows what he's doing. |

Solid if not a great draft. Picked up some quality players in spite of the poor drafting position he was in. Top WR, 2QBs, CB, LS & P.
Also some good looking undrafted FAs. That's why Ted was named executive of the year. Say aren't you the same guys who wanted him to draft Ginn last season? |

The secret to Drafting is NOT picking the most popular names from the most popular schools nor is it to pick the players with the fastest 40 time or heaviest bench press score. That is all media propoganda. It's about picking players with the most skill and untapped potential so that when they make your team, they'll grow to become BETTER than they were in college. To dertermine this, scouts must "get to know" players instead of watching 12 seconds of video on sport center. More than half of drafted first and second round draft picks "wash out" of the NFL in the 1st 3 years. Most of those are your media favorites which quickly become forgotten when they suddenly fold because they cant handle big money and media scruteny.
TT took one of the oldest teams in the NFL under Sherman posting a horible record(don't put much into that record because half the team was hurt that year)into the youngest team in the NFL for a couple years posting .500 and above records. This winning young team is comprised mainly of draft picks who weren't the media favorites. Important players are Packer property for years to come, or are securely under contract. They did it while assuring plenty of cap space to RESIGN important young players. TT has provided Packer fans with a core of players that will play winning football for years to come, and most of these young players continue to get better year after year. I don't understand the Packers prioritizing a Wide receiver as their first pick. I DO understand the Packers picking a player who is big, strong, intellegent, hard to bring down, doesn't drop passes, is a good person, has a great work ethic, and has a tremendous upside for learning the football at the pro level. When your team is on stable footing like the Packers are, these are the kind of players they should draft. If you notice, Jordy Nelson isn't the only player they drafted that fits that mold. And notice the 1st quarter back they picked was said by many to be the most "NFL ready" quarterback in the draft... isn't that what you need when your heir apparent hasn't proven he can play a whole game without following it up with vacation on the IR? |

Terrific Ted did it again...another great draft. Not one, but two solid QBs. The Pack won't win a championship? You must have had your head buried in the sand these past seasons that he has been GM. Wake up and smell the roses.

We still have to play the game on the field and stay healthy Jerry.Yes i agree Ted is a top notch GM,,but teams have to be healthy and another key is stepping up the first few games until AR is comfortable and gets into his rutine. The defense will have to be flauless and not give up points the first few weeks, until we start scoring with AR aat the helm...we do agree with one thing Ted Thompson is a top notch GM and is the best Gm in the game in my opinion.OK some will say the GM in NE ,but we didnt have to use illegal films of defenses to win and get into the championship game of the NFC and that was inn 3 years,,it took that crew that long to win the SB adn they cheated so,we will see.

before we sing the praises of this years draft,,lets wait a few years and see how it works it self out.So far so good,so it is based on history that we assume a good draft, but past sucess doesnt mean future success..and im as big a Ted Thompson fan as you are, and i will say hes the best GM in the game barring none.

While I will agree that overpaying for free agents is a bad idea, not attempting to sign any top players when you have an enormous amount of cap room is also plain stupid. Can we all just harken back to his not signing Randy Moss... Could have had a superbowl with one or two more signings last year, but instead, the team made a profit. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY Ted... Now don't take this as a complete bashing; I like Ted's basic approach. But you need to balance it instead of going in one direction (getting lots of players on the cheap vs spending in free agency). As for this draft, I was a bit dissapointed on some levels, but time will tell. No one knows yet, but if he has one, two or three gems that are playing in five years, we'll all look back on this saying he was a genious. On the other hand... |
|
|
he traded a 6th round draft pick last offseason for an undrafted running back that was the most productive offensive player in the league in the last 9 games of the season. the man is pure genious, he knows talent and he knows how to work the draft. people thought he was crazy trading out of the spot where the pats picked chad jackson a few years back as well, but instead he picked up greg jennings... tell me how that worked out?
.. i thought so |
|
Leo... Teddy T. didn't spend because he didn't need to. The Pack is solid everywhere and it's because of Thompson's "building from within" approach to acquiring players. The draft is all we'll ever need with the NFL's G.M. of the year in control. |
|
Moss was using the Packers for leverage agianst NE,He wanted to play with NE!!! Im just glad he played with NE and those cheating aholes choked the SB as teh biggest favorites in History to lose the biggest game AND they choked away thier perfect season! |

Alot of you guys seem unsure about Brian Brohm, but let me be the first to tell you GB made a wise choice in drafting him.He comes from a long line of QB's an he has the field presence that is required to lead a team. You'll change your tune once he leads the pack into the playoffs.
