G.J. Kinne is transferring again, this time under much more normal circumstances.
The Texas Longhorns quarterback said Friday he is leaving the team after one redshirt season to find more playing time elsewhere. Kinne was behind starter Colt McCoy and sophomores John Chiles and Sherrod Harris on the depth chart.
In 2006, Kinne left Canton High School after his dad, the head coach, was shot by an angry parent. He transferred to Gilmer and was a two-time Class 3A offensive player of the year. Read more

Battle to replace RB Charles highlights Texas' spring practice

This season, there's a different competition brewing within the Texas offense.
And this one's a little more important to the Longhorns than John Chiles and Sherrod Harris battling for the backup quarterback spot in 2007.
