FSU's Next Head Coach, Jimbo Fisher, Has Followed Bowdens to Success
Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden, center, congratulates offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher, right, after a touchdown against Colorado during the NCAA college football game at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
Kentucky may have lost yet another football game to Tennessee in 2009, but there was a figure from UK's sports past who was a winner as a result of the way things played out.
Jimbo Fisher has always been a Florida State fan. He was born in West Virginia in 1965 but remembers following the Seminoles and watching coach Bobby Bowden on television in the 1970s.

Known for his faith on and off the field, Bobby Bowden, one of the winningest coaches in college football history, credits God with his position as head coach of the Florida State University Seminoles and his success over the years.
Bowden says Manuel's poise faces test in UF
Florida State coach Bobby Bowden has been in this position before. Sort of. He started a redshirt freshman quarterback at Florida in 2001, Chris Rix, and again in 2005, former Land O'Lakes star Drew Weatherford.

Wake Forest gives Seminoles fits
It's not like Florida State's football schedules are printed each year with an asterisk by this game.

Florida State Seminoles: A Tale of Two Teams
I've been a Florida State fan probably as far back as 1993, but my love for the Seminoles didn't truly grow until I became one, attending FSU from 2002-2006. While growing up in the 90s, the Seminoles were the team to beat.
Lightly recruited Ponder becoming big-time player
Christian Ponder wasn't supposed to be this good. The emerging star for No. 18 Florida State was projected as a possible backup quarterback during the recruiting process, a smart kid with good lineage whose father had played for coach Bobby Bowden two decades ago.
Wynn has sights set on passing record
The number is never too far from the thoughts of Zack Wynn. It isn't his primary focus whenever Hudson takes the field, but it's safe to say it means something to the senior quarterback a ' leaving prep football in possession of Pasco County's passing yardage record.
Russell Wilson's attempt to break the mark for most consecutive passes without an interception has gotten more attention in the past week, but what would breaking the mark mean? Those four names pretty much run the gauntlet of possible quarterbacking careers.
FSU's presidential search committee to hold first meeting
The search for a replacement for Florida State University President T.K. Wetherell should begin to pick up steam today.
Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Great, Week 1 Rant... What's with all the Boise State love all of a sudden? Not to diminish a decent win, but Oregon is not a great football team this year.
Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes may have found QBs to revive them
Neither one moves as well as Charlie Ward. And neither has the arm of Vinny Testaverde.
