ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Even in his worst shooting slumps of the season, Josh Carter said he never lost confidence in his shot and wasn't afraid to let it fly.
But it sure makes a big difference for the rest of the Texas A&M Aggies when he actually starts making them.
Carter opened the NCAA Tournament by tying his career high with 26 points against BYU, but it's yet to be known whether he's turned a corner, which could be pivotal when the ninth-seeded Aggies face top-seeded UCLA at 8:15 tonight at the Honda Center. Read more

Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon didn't blame his Brigham Young counterpart, Dave Rose, for his strategy against the Aggies. If Turgeon had been sitting on the other bench Thursday night, he would have done the same thing -- double-team A&M's big men down low and dare the Aggies' streaky shooters to beat the Cougars from the perimeter.
The Aggies, Josh Carter especially, accepted that dare and made BYU pay for it. A&M beat the bomb-happy Cougars at their own game, capturing a 67-62 victory in the first round of the NCAA men's basketball West Regional. Read more
