So why does it take four trucks and 16 men to sweep sand on roads that the state stop spreading sand on two years ago! Maybe we need a reality check. Calhoun adds to the bottom line.
It is a state law that all roads must be swept and all catch basins must be cleaned every year. And the reason there are so many trucks is the keep our state DOT crew safe. Please keep following the ball up and down the court and keep paying the state income tax the state sales tax and the state gasoline tax. You seem like the type of person that just sits around the house wearing torn sweat pants and a stained tee shirt crying.I bet you dont even go to a U Conn game dur to the high ticket prices.

Just another bitter person who was great in physics but couldn't hold a ball if it was attached to his/her Trapper Keeper. Don't worry, us jocks were as jealous of your grades as you were of our girlfriends.

so if coach edsell makes 1.6 million a year and he has a less than .500 record at uconn
what do you think coach calhoun is worth ?
and PLEASE dont tell me edsell is building a program--its been 9 years !!!!!
It takes an extremely long time to build a top 1-A football program vs a basketball program. Just look at the different positions vs basketball offense, defense, special teams. Your not an athlete, at least not one that know football!

After reading some of the negativity these blowhards wrote, it is no wonder this state is in the position it's in. After all these are probably some of the same people that voted in these idiotic state politicians. Jim you probably will never see this and even if you did I'm sure these nuts have no affect on you. That probably is the best thing to know. Their opinions mean nothing!!

i think this is coach edsell,s 10th season coming up--he looks for a job at another college doesnt get it and uconn gives him a raise ?
so tell me how many years does it take to build a program ? they only had 5 passing td,s all last season and now of course their scrapping their offence this year and starting all over with something new.(still building program)
i just think a coach making 1.6 million a year would ATLEAST have a .500 record for the college
so now we all wait til he gets a winning record
and he leaves for another school
building a program ?
building resume !

I love reading quotes from ignorant people who don't know anything about the subject they are talking about. Remember Louie Carnesecca? St. Johns was a national powerhouse. How well did they do after he left? I could provide many more examples if need be. Calhoun is a god in the world of college sports. Uconn was a pathetic nothing college in ALL regards before he came. Because of him AND Gino, Uconn has become a household name. The school has been upgraded significantly since he arrive. You now have a D1 football team because of him, etc.
Jim Calhoun is about the most decent, hard working coach I have ever seen. The kind of man you would wish could be your dad. He demands excellence, pushes kids and defends them to his death. He is as old school as you get, and any old timer that talks about how coaches don't run the show, or how bad kids are today would be a fool to bash him on any level. Is he perfect, heck no, but the man has passion running through his veins. It is no doubt that for a few years Uconn had more players in the NBA than any other college program which is why the graduation rate is so low. Many players left early to the NBA. That's called success any way you slice it.
Jim and Gino, please stay at Uconn until the day you both die. Uconn will never be the same when you leave.
<quoted text>
You SURE you're only a Frosh? You captured this man and this program to a "T". I, like yourself, have to listen to these dimwit haters because we live in a Democracy, and because the chicken-sh*t P.C.ers can hide behind the anonymity of their parent's basement posts. It's painfully obvious, none of these knuckleheads are taken too seriously, or have the b*lls to confront Calhoun or the true UCONN fans, lest they be beatch slapped, ala Ken Kreybaby. Funny, I go to all the games, see nothing but Blue and White, and then read the next day about Calhoun this and Calhoun that. The man stands alone among his current peers, he is undoubtedly UNDERPAID and I, for one, appreciate his talents, and what he has done for the boys, the school, and the state. GO HUSKIES!!!
