Heat's Beasley says he has a fractured sternum
Miami Heat rookie forward Michael Beasley said on his blog that the elbow he took to the chest at the start of summer camp resulted in 'a very, very slight fracture of the sternum.'
The No. 2 overall selection in last week's NBA Draft said in the post at ESPN.com that he could miss the balance of the camp at AmericanAirlines Arena, which concludes Sunday.
'They're going to keep me out of contact for 3-5 days just to be safe. By that time the very slight fracture will have healed,' he blog read.

Heat's Michael Beasley has cracked sternum; Daequan Cook out with separated shoulder
The Miami Heat's summer camp is exacting a far greater toll than could have been anticipated from such offseason workouts.
The team not only confirmed today that Michael Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA Draft, has a 'slight crack' of his sternum, but also revealed that 2007 Heat first-round pick Daequan Cook will be sidelined for two to four weeks with a slight separation of his left shoulder.
While Cook will now miss next week's summer league in Orlando, the Heat is hopeful that Beasley nonetheless can compete in the week of games at the Orlando Magic's practice facility.

Miami Heat will play Derrick Rose-led Bulls in summer-league opener
Derrick Rose and Michael Beasley will pick up next week where they left off in last week's NBA Draft.
After Rose went No. 1 to the Chicago Bulls and Beasley went No. 2 to the Heat, their professional debuts also will be linked, with the Heat to play the Bulls on Monday on the first day of the Orlando Pro Summer League.
The Heat's summer-league schedule and roster were released Tuesday.
In addition to Beasley, also listed on the Heat's summer roster are second-round pick Mario Chalmers, returning Heat players Daequan Cook, Stephane Lasme and Kasib Powell, as well as former collegiate standouts Pat Calathes, Marco Killingsworth, David Padgett, Josh Duncan and Jason Richards.
