Camaro Z/28R At Cota: Hoping To Maintain Championship Control

With five victories in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge this season, Chevrolet hopes to strengthen its hold on the series' Grand Sport championships heading to Circuit of The Americas. With two races remaining in the 2014 season, Chevrolet leads the GS manufacturer championship while Team Chevy drivers and partner teams are now in front in their respective points standings on the strength of the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R. The 11th round of the Continental Tire championship takes place at 12:20 p.m. CT on Friday at the palatial Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.

2014 Chicagoland: Ben Kennedy NASCAR Truck Race Recap

Ben Kennedy overcame a 17th-place starting position to earn a top-10 finish in his second-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Chicagoland Speedway. Despite starting the event with tight handling and experiencing a slight vibration, Kennedy was able to navigate his Heater.com Chevrolet to the front of the field, ultimately crossing the finish line in the seventh position and gaining two spots in the NCWTS Driver Point Standings.

2014 Chicagoland: Brennan Newberry NASCAR Nationwide Race Recap

Through unseasonably brisk weather, rain, wind, and 525 miles, Brennan Newberry had a very busy yet productive weekend while visiting Joliet, Illinois for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series events. What appeared to be a tall order for the young, Bakersfield, California native, turned into headlines with Newberry starting on the outside of the front row in the NCWTS Lucas Oil 225 and turned some of the fastest lap times throughout the event.

Atlanta Hawks general manager Danny Ferry took an indefinite leave of absence Friday, making the move under fire for his racially charged comments about a player. "My hope is that this time away from the Hawks organization allows him the privacy he needs to listen to the community, to learn about his mistakes, and to begin the long process of personal healing," Hawks CEO Steve Koonin said in a statement.

NASCAR officials canceled qualifying about an hour prior to its scheduled start time of 6:45 p.m. ET, due to rain that hit the track mid-afternoon on Friday.
