Cup stars in the Nationwide Series leave young drivers on the sidelines

Full story: www.scenedaily.com

JOLIET, Ill. – The first column I ever wrote about NASCAR posed the following question: Why are Sprint Cup drivers allowed to compete in the second-tier Nationwide series?

sprint car drivers enter the Nationwide Series, because they ate totally greedy, are they any different then other sport stars??

Pretty soon they won't have a Nationwide Series, what person in their right mind would sponsor a team which cannot really compare with sprint personal.

So maybe one day the rookies might get their race back once again

I think as long as the cars are different there is no issue in Cup guys being in the Nationwide Series.

I honestly think it's good competition for the newbies. They get to race with the big boys but not in the Cup series, so the get experience without messing up the Cup points standings.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings! There is an ongoing effort to implement the "COT" in the NNS for 2010! Just a few tracks at first, and all by 2011? Here, read for yourself...

...so much for the rookies getting their track back! It sucks, I agree!

Nationwide is suppose to be training for the Cup series. What minor league baseball or footfall player wouldn't love to go up against the major league guys to learn and to test themselves? When a Nationwide regular wins he KNOWS that he's beaten the best. I wouldn't watch the Nationwide races as religiously as I do now if the Cup guys weren't in there.

I agree and disagree. The experience is good for the up and comers but the cup drivers do mess with the points in the Nationwide series. Cup drivers are dominating the NW points again this year. When was the last NW regular to win a championship?
Just an idea, but what if the limited the number of NW races a cup driver can run to say, five. They would still be teaching the rookies but having minimal impact on the points. Some of the teams could even rotate cup drivers through their cars.

Daily Horoscope for November 14

Virgo

As much as you would like to tell a certain someone off today, it's wiser to bite your tongue. E-mail can come back to haunt you; we all know stories of someone who accidentally sent the wrong memo out to the entire office. If you really must vent, wait until you get home and then tell your partner your woes. Go for a long walk first to get the edge off.
