As we pass through the tiny Indian villages winding our way from Zitacuaro to Morelia, we notice small cans capturing sap from the pine trees, small fires smoldering in adobe homes, dogs, chickens, Purepecha women dressed in traditional white dresses with purple flowered blouses, infants strapped to their backs with brightly colored serapes.
