I was never a big fan of smooth jazz anyway (I think smooth jazz is for people who hate real jazz i.e. straight-ahead jazz), or dont understand it. I like music to get my attention.
I love all kinds of music -rock, soul, funk, blues, country, bluegrass, classical - but this thing called smooth jazz is boring their radio stations are boring too.
Two of my favorite real jazz stations are WBGO in New Jersey/New York and WWOZ in New Orleans -check em out -you might like them too.

I totaly agree with you. Once you take out the spontaneous improv of the artist, then you no longer have jazz. Personally I think alot of the smooth jazz stations were really instrumental pop. It wasn't really jazz. As an artist, I am open to all forms of music, but my ear is tuned to straight ahead jazz. When I walk into a jazz club,:straight ahead" is what I expect to hear, not some cat blowing a Britney Spears tune on sax. Now if that is what a cat want to play, then it is his/her horn. But I would not label it as Jazz.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Pisces

You're lacking in energy and resources today, which will soon slow you down and make you feel as though you're wading through treacle. The only way to cope is to have as many breaks as possible, and not to set yourself impossible goals that you could never hope to meet. You're also very susceptible to the criticisms or put-downs of others, but do your best to ignore them.
