Paul Manz's stirring and fresh chorale preludes have done a lot to give a contemporary flair to liturgical worship. He certainly did a lot to preserve the hymn as the identifying form of Lutheran congregational music. Even many who do not care for pipe organ music, but prepare a contemporary band, agree that the like Paul Manz's music. I have four of his recordings and enjoy them very much.
