The Phoenix Foundation dominate NZSO in live experiment
Formed at Wellington High School over twenty years ago, rooted in the Aro Valley, they have covered everything from Indie pop and big band illusions to movie and TV soundtracks, and they have done so with a huge cache of original songs that could have taken then anywhere. And I don't think their loyal fans care either, a large number of whom were at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre for this large scale collaboration with 48 members of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
