"We're still the world's greenest county fair," said Jim Farley, Marin County director of cultural and visitor services. "But while last year was more about education, this year is more about family fun." Farley insists that the 64th annual Marin County Fair will continue to feature the environmentally friendly elements that brought the fair national attention last year.....Yet in a year when many families are scaling back their discretionary spending, Farley is also spotlighting the fair as a great value. "A lot of parents come for the concerts on the island," Farley said. "After all, where else can you see Los Lobos, the Wailers or Creedence Clearwater Revisited for $14? The kids come for the carnival rides and the animals. Out-of-town guests come to see things like the 3-D photography exhibit and the electric car show. And everybody loves the fireworks."

Yeah finally you guys are getting it."It is a FAIR!!" Get rid of the whole "green" crap. Seriously who gives a rat's ass if the Fair is "green" - that is such a overused term these days. Focus on family fun, music, funnel cakes, snow cones, the great concerts, etc. Get back to the basics please.

eh, i disagree, market watch. i think the green theme is really cool and i can't wait to share the experience with my kids. it's great that the marin cty fair has something different to offer. you want funnel cakes, rides, and crappy food? you can go to just about any other county fair for that.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Leo

You'll be action-oriented today, Leo. If truth be told, intense physical activity has the ability to soothe you much more than frenzied mental exercise. Invitations to madness are the wrong thing for you, but they are tempting nonetheless. Dig in your heels and do what you know you have to do. When driving this evening, take extra care.
