Turner Classic Movies 20th Anniversary

My favorite television station, bar none, is Turner Classic Movies ; and believe it or not TCM celebrated their 20th Anniversary on April 14th, 2014 with 11 of the greatest movies ever made and a retrospective special: TCM: Twenty Classic moments. Unfortunately, I missed the original showing, but my astute wife taped it for me the other day, and I would suggest you do the same if you have not seen it.

PERFORMERS of the Stonesfield Players took on various characters for a marathon 12 hours to raise more than A 330 for a West Oxfordshire charity. The actors staged an improvised performance of scenes from plays including 'Allo! 'Allo!, Acorn Antiques and Under Milk Wood, reading straight from the scripts.

TCM to air 24-hour Lauren Bacall marathon

Lauren Bacall was just 19 when she met a married Humphrey Bogart on the set of 1944's "To Have And Have Not," but their 25-year age gap and Bogart's marital status didn't seem to stop a romance from forming. Iconic screen star Lauren Bacall 's death on August 12 was just a month shy of what would have been her 90th birthday Tuesday, September 16. In honor of that date, cable television's Turner Classic Movies channel will air a 24-hour marathon of some of her greatest films.
